But you literally said it's unfair to iphone because S5 just came out. If you think about it what you just said is that S5 just came out but outsold the iphone already.

And Android uses ram efficiently too. It can in fact do more with it. And there are smaller Androids as well. Plus a compact 5inch is fairly usable for many people too.

Lets say that IOS is a good bit more efficient. It's still because it has more restrictions and less functions. Android supposedly NEEDS faster chips. Fine so it has more powerful and more expensive chips and ram.
So just becuase IOS does less and can run smoother means it's ok to charge the same for less and less expensive chips?
You said it's made to use in one hand and that's why it has smaller screen right? And that supposedly Full HD screen has no use.
Either way. Tell me the cost of a 4 inch screen that is not even HD compared to even the Z1 compact Triluminos HD screen at 4.3 inches.
Now tell me the cost compared to a 5 inch FullHD screen. Now tell me the cost compared to a 5 inch FullHD Amoled screen. You realize that an Amoled screen the same size and resolution as the Iphone display would still cost more right?
You say it's smaller for easier use. Does that change the fact that smaller and less material equate to less cost?
How about battery? Ok you would say it has good enough battery life. Does it change the fact of the cost of the battery? It has a battery still almost the same size as the Iphone 4. It has a about 1560MAH compared to 1440mah battery. Compare that to the cost of the 2,800mah in the S5, 3200mah of Note or G2. Some of which you can even remove.
How about Sd slot? You pay the same price for 16GB or more for an Iphone. But most of those same price or cheaper devices have card slots to increase storage up to an additional 128GB.
NFC, Wifi Direct, bluetooth transfer to other phones which even flip phones could do before the iphone came out. Some of those even had file managers.
How about LTE? Wasn't the Iphone 5 the first to have LTE?
You say IOS is more efficient and smooth. Ok. It also has system wide lock down completely restricted. Like I said. Even bluetooth and file manager that fliphones 10 years ago had. Did you know that the first 3 iphones could not even send MMS until the update that came after? It took til the 3rd to record video. Again. All things prior flip phones could do.
Android needs more powerful hardware. Fine. But it has more powerful hardware. And you can do virtually whatever you want to it. Even a hacked Iphone still has more restriction than a non hacked Android.
You can customize it and do basically anything you want to your Android.
USB mass storage mode, launchers, multitasking, transfering files between folders, apps, other phones, and most computers with ease.
You can make the phone look as complicated, simple, cool, weird, anything you want. And you can even do it all on a really cheap one. It will slow it down a little more....But you can still do it if YOU chose.
With IOS you only get what apple lets you have. Plain and simple.
Now we will leave it off there for now. There is more than that. And do not forget the part where I'm letting you know most of those things you said about the differences especially in optimizing are misconceptions. But for your sake I won't drag this on any longer. Except to say one thing. IOS get even heavier and accounts for the most crashes now. Explain that.

you guys need to realize one thing. the comparison is unfair because this is the just now release s5 against an old iphone. i guess most of you samsung users read the wrong thing and any little good news about samsung you guys get excited. Read all the other news that iphone outshines the galaxy's. Face it, galaxy will always play catch up not matter what they do

Then about Samsung features, not "gimmicks": It would have been an iphone, all of you would say, "it's great, it's innovation". It's samsung, it's either "a copy or gimmick".
I'm not defending Samsung but i'm just open minded: for about the same price as other flagships, you get more features, and what then? Is it a problem? You don't have to use them, some will be used by you, others by someone else, everyone has its own usage of the phone.
A few years back then, iphone users were saying, a camera / bluetooth / mms on a phone are "gimmicks"... Just waiting for that next iphone :]

Bigger screens obviously have some advantage but it's difficult to carry. Full HD on s5 has no advantage,it's just a game of numbers. it can't make a phone equivalent to computer(or tablet) but only drains battery. android is open source but needs huge processing power & RAM. therefore fast processor & big RAM is must for android otherwise it wouldn't work. what will people (other than tech geeks) do with openness? Even windows is not open though everyone using it.
I really appreciate super amoled display on S5, but most of the other feature are gimmicks( heartbeat sensor etc.). Who really needs those features in a phone?

That's a big reason for a large sell. GS4 was not bad anyway either,but cheaper than iphone & it sold less. In india it's flop coz very few indians are as rich to spend 50k for a phone. Iphone 6 will outsell s5 for sure, simply because every flagship sells much more than its predecessor. that's the fact.

Keeks, 24 Apr 2014Funny because S5 was launched last week here in Manila with... moreyou seem to think that every phone you see is iphone. wake up my friend! don't be the last to know that Apple is just now following the lead. the S5 is beautiful in and out and all you need is a personal encounter. It's already available at Globe and Smart Centers and my colleagues are simply enjoying their S5. I still have my S4 and locked in for 24 months. If only I could upgrade without cost.

I think apple is planning to go court against Samsung on infringement of sales records. One day Apple may claim Graham bell must be its patent . Iphone sales is going to drop because it is too much overpriced and only those who don't know about phones and specifications are buying its phone.
