Anonymous, 29 May 2014LG is the most advanced mobile maker in display technology And the dumbest too, while this is all great and stuff you guys are getting brainwashed by these OEM's, the G3 WILL HAVE WORST GPU PERFORMANCE than the G2 which is pathetic to say the least. Minor gains in looks for major drawbacks in performance, keep being ignorant.

720p on a 4.5 inch display is more that fine by me.
1080p on all above but smaller than 9ish.
above... probably no, but who thinks that it's needed :)

For Mobile Devices (the devices which you will keep at a distance of 1 Foot from your face, at most) resolution of 300 PPI is ENOUGH. And beyond 350 PPI, it is just a Mad Race to say MY PHONE/PHABLET IS SUPERIOR to yours. It's my personal opinion.

I have a better idea. How about changing the resolution of the smartphones ourselves anytime we want between HD and QHD. Just like a pc game.

Yes, it is better, only barely noticeably better. Read whatever you want, going beyond 400ppi is just pointless for a handheld device.

density war should end? Eye capability is way above QHD resolution. Read scientific papers instead of believing what salesmen like Steve Jobs were saying in the past.

The whole PPI war is a little out of control now. We have hit resolutions that make no clarity difference on devices so small. The screens are getting better due to the upping of colour reproduction, contrast, brightness and other bits like that. I am interested in the LG G3 but not because of the resolution, just the handset itself looks like it is going to be a corker for all the other aspects.
