Fingerprint scanner is on /off. You have to swipe downwards to scan. Mostly is index finger. Its a hit and miss, and not nice to use.

iPhone 5S, you just press down on the home button.. unlock immediately.

This ease of using a fingerprint scanner = TouchID impressive innovation. The rest is simply call fingerprint scanner.. nothing impressive.

Did you ever have an Atrix? "TouchID" is the same stupid marketing bullshit, that apple uses by "Retina Display".
Retina Display is just an IPS screen, even LG makes better ones with higher PPI.
TouchID is just a fingerprint sensor and its the same concept as on the Atrix. By the Atrix, you dont have to swipe your finger and its on the on/off button.

            Atrix release fingerprint scanner.

            iPhone release TouchID.

The impact of TouchID can never be removed. Tons will follow the trend and fail, because they use swipe instead of "TOUCH".

If this sensors tech is made without any crackings like it happened with fruit 5S and galaxy S5 that its very easy to break and bypass these sensors, then its no use of having fingerprint or eye scanners as security tools.

I understand the 'point' of a wearable, its a good idea, if over priced - However what is the point of a fingerprint reader on your watch? So that only you can unlock it?

Am i the only one who's yawning at all these wannabe "smart" bracelets/watches? 95% of them are not good at being either (smart or watch). For me, atomic watches are already smart enough. They show time, day, date with absolute perfection. And most of them being solar, i don't ever bother charging them. Casio G-Shocks for example. I already have a phone in my other pocket, why duplicate pretty much the same thing on a wrist, tie it to a phone thats in a pocket, all this with an excuse of convenience when getting SMS notification during a meeting. Isn't the whole point of SMS messages by design to stay on a phone so you can read them after the meeting?

All these manufacturers need to realise no one cares, everyone just keeps their phone on them, wearables will go the way of the dodo.
