Apple - quick to quick make a phone with a sapphire crystal glass, but not so quick to change an OS with key features missing and allowing iOS 8 to be just "another" update.
But you watch, the Apple adverts will be that glamourous white background with a deep voice narrating how wonderful the iPhone is, then Apple will sell the iPhone 6 for about £600 and people will camp outside the Apple store to get their hands on the new iPhone, when they come out of the store the staff will be high fiving the customers at paying so much money for their incredible sapphire glass product......
I am so glad I am not part of the Apple ecosystem anymore! I would rather pay a little less for a phone with much more to give.

anything even it has small percentage of shattering will broke into pieces if they test like that. if dont want to shatter like that, make the screen with the toughest element on earth. anyway, many people dont do like the test on regular basis on any smartphones.

I learnt over the years that change is hard, in the process is messy but in the end it allures or attracts. After the release of iphone 6 many mobile companies will go for sapphire screen. As we are talking 64 bit has drawn much debate at the boardroom to many companies for 2015. iPhone my second religion

This is a gimmick. Apple used a sapphire coating on the camera lens and home button.
Also, they've been coating their memory chips in sapphire since the original iphone.
How else can they justify charging 10x the market price for their memory chips? Hahahaha.
