Also, the standardization of models, allows for the huge eco-system of accessories, and add-ons.
Isn't it strange, how Android market share is so huge, compared to iPhone, yet in terms of accessories, add-ons the market is the opposite in favour of Apple.

So yes big reason for iPhone succee is of course iOS that is the thing which makes iPhone unique.
Also more appealing is look of the device, but thats just matter of taste.

I don't even want to list it out for you. it is very well related to the music industry. Sometimes somethings need to be there and controlled. Or else you'd be like any other android. We already have hundreds of big screen plastic androids.. Thank god for Apple.

Also, where have you confirmed anything regarding battery? One can speculate of course, but to bash prematurely is well... premature.
