Ritzie, 04 Aug 2014It's actually possible.
Last year, HTC Evo 3D saved a man ... moreIf you care to do some checkup then you see that this bullet first went through the upper arm and then through the phone. Fortunately it was a weak caliber in a "modified" or improvised gun, most likely a caliber .32 which is not great, still enough to pass through a mans arm but just barely, and only a thin arm. If it was a regular handgun like a Glock 9mm it would have continued into the chest.
A .32 will shoot through any cellphone that comes in its way even if its a weak caliber.
About that HTC EVO 3D story, it was a small caliber revolver, a .22 LR gun for plinking.

It's actually possible.
Last year, HTC Evo 3D saved a man from the same scenario - a bullet shot to the chest
I guess it depends on the type of gun/bullet AND the phone that will block the shot

Repost: Heres the real story, the bullet went through his upper arm first, not hitting bone, and then through the phone. Anyone who think that a phone alone can stop a bullet need to get their top floor checked. The pictures even show a lot of blood on the shirt, dont you guys take a hint at all??
In addition it was not a powerful gun as mentioned in the Chinese source, maybe even just a .32 or a .25 ACP. The biggest caliber for pocket guns is .380 ACP, its diameter is same as 9mm but has lighter bullets at lower speed. A full metal jacket 9mm would easily have continued deep into the chest after ripping through the upper arm and the phone.
