Meh!!!, If this was a Nokia 3330, it would have caught the bullet in it's teeth and spat it back at the perpetrator. Then punched him upside the head.

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2014The gun was modified and less powerful than a regular gun. ... more"Modified" could mean improvised, home made, but most likely it refers to a "start-gun" used in sports that has been drilled open to accommodate live .32 caliber rounds. .32 is practical that way as they are made for competition handguns for maximum precision and therefor has a very low gas pressure reducing the risk for the modified gun to explode.

Ridiculous! Heres the real story, the bullet went through his upper arm first, not hitting bone, and then through the phone. Anyone who think that a phone alone can stop a bullet need to get their top floor checked. The pictures even show a lot of blood on the shirt, dont you guys take a hint at all??

In addition it was not a powerful gun as mentioned in the Chinese source, maybe even just a .32 or a .25 ACP. The biggest caliber for pocket guns is .380 ACP, its diameter is same as 9mm but has lighter bullets at lower speed. A full metal jacket 9mm would easily have continued deep into the chest after ripping through the upper arm and the phone.

And this is why I don't give a **** about metal phones. Build quality can be just as good with plastic.

Clearly this story is created by Samsung, specially after the many frightening stories about burnt Samsung devices !!
Samsung has lost its reputation with ensuring minimum safety matters to their Clints, and I don't think some out of the blue undocumented stories will bring it back

ThunderCrackR, 01 Aug 2014That is why we should love plastic phones. Eat that iHaters... moreThe gun was modified and less powerful than a regular gun. The bullet also passed through the man's hand before hitting the phone. Maybe you should read more on the story.

It's like full body armor at over 6 inches. But seriously, this guy was very lucky the bullet didn't go through.

That is why we should love plastic phones. Eat that iHaters/M8ters. Haha! No, really, plastic is suitable for phones, it is not that elegant but it is more durable and takes drops better because it is more flexible. If you really want metal, I think that magnesium is the best of all for electronic devices, like in the Surface line, at least. But only if plastic is that big of a probem!

plastic once again proves that it is the best when it comes to durability.

an aluminium HTC One M8 gets dents when it falls to the ground. A bullet would have surely carved a f***hole in the One M8
