I don't agree.I think they improved their Customer Service a lot.Camera broke on my HTC One.Got it all fixed very quickly and was well kept in the loop through all process.
They fixed issues with updates too,I got Kitkat quicker than Galaxy S5.
I don't understand why people don't buy HTC these days...

HTC sucks when it comes to sales and even after sales service.HTC announced in june that E8 will be available by end of july in India.Still no Sign of it.And its worse camera is also going to hamper it more.HTC will never win the race in market shares after giving such a Bad performance. No wonder Samsung is a top dog in india with its aggressive marketing and sales.

The quicker they get out of Android devices the better. It is clearly a loss maker for them and with Kitkat messing up people's SD cards they should look at other platforms. They make nice devices, add a little value of their own and yet make no money. Go back to being smaller scale operation making phones for others.

gj, 05 Aug 2014This was due to brainless people who buy low quality phone ... moreHtc problem are 2 fold, first there is the ultrapixel camera.

People see the number 4Mp HTC and 16MP Samsung, I for one don't have time to be convinced that this performs like a 12Mp phone

Second the NON user replaceable battery, If you can buy a phone that you can buy a spare battery.

By the way the LG G3 specs are exactly the same as the LG G2 an adds QHD. The LG G3 adds MicroSD expansion & removable battery ie giving people what they want

Xiaomi and Lenovo in China have pushed Apple from SECOND into FOURTH place

Whilst Xiaomi, Lenovo are offering relatively high specs to the "brainless" and the "brained" Samsung despite the plastic ALWAYS provided, mSD expansion and battery which appealed to those who spine terminated at the neck, or defied gravity, and provided proof in entering the cranium that nature abhors a vacuum

Samsung is also succumbing to high spec low cost phenomena, that has started in the East and is moving west

It makes(HTC)sense to get a phone you want at the lowest possible price, so whilst your list only contains one supplier of merit, many will buy these phones at the price as NOT spending the money on a phone they could say use that money on something else, eg Photoshop a document from MENSA

Looks like HTC is beyond help. HTC has never been competitive at sub $300 market, and now they cannot win flagship battle either. What I don't understand is, people press "LIKE" for M7/M8 but buy GS4/GS5 instead, why?

M7 and M8 not selling much,

Why cause you left the One X and X+ with no further updates.

Like me most of the owners may want to upgrade to the new HTC phones but some of us won't cause the same can happen to the new HTC phone.

AnonD-290864, 05 Aug 2014Probably because their service s*cksHTC is infamous here for having a bad after market service especially bringing it for a repair. It will take you as "early" as 6 months up to a year or so to have your phone fixed and they will not contact you or even update you regarding about the status of your device.

There is a reason that HTC marketing department didn't understand in their mix. If we look at Samsung , Apple & even Micromax in india. All of them have majority of market share in the local market. But for HTC.. Samsung is the leader in market share. HTC is 2nd. Hence HTC need to capture their local market again.

This is why... They are having their Aug. 19th press conference. W8 is my guess for a Windows phone version of the M8 Android phone. Now they can gain both ends of the market and invest more money into their failed camera. They will probably work with Nokia (hint the Windows contract).

Now they will be the superior phone. Just my guess...

If I were hTC management, I would want a 4.7" and 5.7" phones for the market. I know people would argue with me and say that hTC would need a small phone as well. Then I would have to say make a 4.1" just to piss off Apple. Both would great cameras and different size batteries (of course). Make different colors and materials at different prices for the materials part. Aluminum, Plastic (removal battery) and their porcelain version that is in the pipe line.

Well if one announces a better phone than its flagship at a much lower price no one gonna go for the flagship, and then make the consumers waiting and waiting and waiting..then what do HTC expect. I don see the trend changing in the upcoming months also because people are frustrated with the long wait that HTC has given with E8. Now when the E8 actually launches, Samsung galaxy note 4 will release which will result in a massive price cut for Note 3 and GS-5, both much better in comparison to E8.

HTC failed to correct all that was wrong through sheer arrogance and a lackadaisical attitude. Poor after sales service, a confusing marketing strategy and its insistence on a 4MP camera for two consecutive flagships.

The backtracking to a 13MP camera on later variants of the M8 is like crying over spilled milk. Going by recent reviews, it appears to be a rush job and isn't capable of standing up to other 13MP cameras.

Now that Oppo and Xiaomi have raised the stakes, it will become increasingly difficult for HTC to let the cement dry when it comes to profitability.
