They were black and white for a long time, and their imitators did the same. When Apple introduced a third colour gold, it became black, white and gold, and magically this became 'standard' amongst some companies too, yet the fanboys were indignant when this was pointed out.

Kudos to Sony, for always following their own path. I cannot say the same for companies like Samsung, Meizu, Xiaomi, who simply do not have their own identity. it is an identity influenced by others.

I like the new SmartBand. Looks elegant and the e-ink will make good battery life instead of battery drainer like Galaxy Gear

Funny how when people say Samsung or now Meizu and others copied Apple with the new gold scheme, the fanboys all rush to defend, "It's just logical!" "Apple didn't invent gold!" lol.

See how Sony is showing the way, you can have your own design philosophy. Well done Sony.

darkgamer, 03 Sep 2014But crippled ergonomics. They all look really good but ... moreVery subjective, i dont find samsungs easy to handle, feels more like easy to drop. I loved the flat sides of Xperia Z, excellent grip, and a Galaxy S4 user who tried my Z went like "wow, great feeling phone". It was only a few girlish boys with soft girly hands who didnt like the grip of Z.

Worst handling phone i had was Note 2, the rounded sides and the wide size was horrible, Galaxy S4 was a big improvement but S5 took a step backwards again. HTC doesnt count for me, never falling for any of their great looking garbage phones again, a pig with makeup is still a pig.

n4, 03 Sep 2014wow! the copper looks good! I might replaced my Note 3 for ... moreDepends where you are from, the copper one may be nice in some Middle East and East Asian places but for Western Europe it could be considered as flashy and show-off.

Lets wait and see how the copper finish deals with fingerprints, that will be a deciding factor for many of those who previously owned for example Xperia Z (which was not only a fingerprint magnet but also very hard to clean, lucky it was waterproof so we at least had a chance of cleaning it at all)

B... moreYou got that backwards, what you call lack of optimization is actually an optimization. It is supposed to use all available RAM for caching, thats how Linux is meant to work, its just that Android (which is based on Linux) hasnt previously taken advantage of this feature. The cached RAM is still readily available to be used, theres no problems about it.

In RAM usage indicators for GNU/Linux one can see how much of the RAM is used for system, applications and cache, Android should have something similar but as we know Google doesnt think users should be bothered with those details, it will confuse the less technical users.

Sony is always good in design. Great hardware and Design. But their software department is too week. The UI is not optimized properly. My T2 Ultra always occupies 80-85% of RAM without using any apps.(After Kitkat update). The Walkman app is full of bugs.
