Even with no benchmark improvements it would be good, the 5s is already a beast in performance, if its one thing it doesnt need its more performance, unless of course you desire to calculate the mass of the universe on a smartphone, i dont see thats gonna happen.
Performance is so saturated already, sure you could sometimes noticed that Xperia Z1 is faster than Z but makes a difference? Not really. I want the rest of the phone to level up, like more RAM, 32GB expandable storage, better displays and batteries. Bigger display and thinner body with a bumped up chipset is not innovation, yet its all that 2014 has brought, hopefully that changes ina few hours, go Apple, let us see something useful that doesnt follow the useless Droid spec war, we havent seen anything really new in 1 year now, TouchID that was.

dont be stupid guys (who are commenting against iphone 6) look at the benchmark scores these are way better than iphone 5s and galaxy s5 and lg g3 then think again if u said hardware of iphone 6 is not good (be smart)

Calm down guys.
Apple needs to retain its impressive profit margins. If it increases RAM or adds a better screen, bigger battery etc, cost goes up. Apple has shareholders to please. Apple is run like a profit machine - its the richest company in the world.
Apple is about high end design, ease of use and status. If you want the specs etc, you know where to go. Simple.

Currently it's the 3rd-party ROMs support that "sells me" any phone.
They are updated much more often (meaning security updates wont go missing for months, like in stock) and (*maybe*) they will also bring newer versions of Android past the date when the manufacturer chooses to kill support.
The are also much cleaner (no more lag-inducing overlays such as TouchWiz) and are much more faithful to the "Android the way it was meant to be" mantra.

Nobody would buy that. But I guess Apple is expecting record sales this year too. I wonder how long it would be until people compare phones objectively. We'll have to wait until Android L has settled and the term "lagdroid" wil be a thing of the past. Then people wil actually see what they are buying.

Except it's not a technology. It's a moniker for their "perfect" ppi. While all other platforms has moved on and is going beyond 530ppi. What doesn't make sense is Apple sticking sooo hard to their magical 320 ppi that they missed the point were most content is on 1080p which would have given the iPhone a decent 460ppi
