Plated means coated only by 24c. In china 24c of gold is about $55 per gram. How they priced of £2,400 if it is only coated. May if pure gold 24c and handmade. The skill of hand is the one paying of.

Looks tacky. I imagine the owner looks like Larry Laffer and wears a huge "bling" on a gold chain, keeps his shirt unbuttoned (showing his chest hair), drives a blinged up Bentley (or SUV with dancing lights and "spinner" wheels). Our maybe a south American drug lord. :)
