There has been some outstanding phones in their respective times. I wouldn't dare to name them cause that is a personal taste/needs subject. So make your own list and pick the one that's closest to that perfection you're seeking.

                A 13MP camera is for selfie and that's a good idea 💡.
Well done HTC you have beaten Apple and Samsung at it's own game well done .

Why oh why would i need a 13 MP front facing camera and the same MP for the rear camera? not a good option I think.

I agree with a lot of the others posting here, 13MP is a tad bit overkill. I think 8MP is about as high as you should go. There is a reason Apple has retained their 8 MP camera for 4 straight phones. But it should be accompanied with a dual flash without a doubt.

dlads, 08 Oct 2014Jesus christ HTC, an 801? Step up and make a change to usin... moreThat would be way too expensive, but almost no difference.
anyway, there is not a big difference between 800, 801 and 805..
The 810 will be a revolution tho in speed and power saving.

I really like this one here, HTC is being smart and classy as usual!

why oh why!!! Each and every phone after phone is turning out to be a disappointment??
Only phones which i have liked this year so far are Xperia Z3, Z3 compact, Xiaomi Mi4, and MEizu MX4. Also Galaxy alpha was good but a bit over priced for its specs. The rest of almost all phones are mostly disappointing in 1 way or another. :-(

Gutted. I was hope for this and more. Wants the 805 SoC with 3GB ram. 5.5" screen. This will probably be the last of the quad-core on a flagship. It will be octa on the next years flagship. Saying that. This isn't a replacement/upgrade for the M8 as it's the desire family. Would have been good for an upgraded M8 with them specs. HTC will have to pull out all the stops next Q2 flagship releases as they are behind Samsung with the Note 4 which HTC had the chance to outshine them once again however they let Samsung capitalise on the market for phablets. Think I'll keep my M8
