very user friendly and I like that Nokia does frequent software updates. Excellent for the price! Recommend for the price and the features, no need to look further.

Does the Nokia 503 really has a 1GHz Processor? It's often very slow. I think rather that only the Asha 311 is the only Asha with such processor. Otherwise the new Asha-Software seems to be programmed quite bad.

I bought this phone as a replacement for Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V which I had for more than 2 years. The main motivation was the smartpnone-like features as indicated on the phone's box and the 5MP camera. Nokia Asha 503 incorporates technology which is at least 7 years old in a touch screen framework, nothing more. It lacks essential applications like pdf reader, a descent calculator (you can't even calculate a square root with the built in app) and a simple text editor. That's only a portion of the disadvantages compared to other smart phones which cost the same or even less money. In regards to the camera, the picture frame is 5MP, but the quality is almost VGA like, let alone the menu options which are very limited. The main menu and the way the -if I could call it so- OS handles the various applications are very cumbersome. The phone has limited memory but it comes with many games and definitely useless applications preinstalled, while there is not a straightforward way for them to be removed. Even if someone was interested in playing games on this phone, the screen resolution and colors are very poor, so this option becomes almost impossible. Web browsing is unbearable as most pages do not open properly. Actually when the user tries to access a page, the browser redirects him to a modified version of it which resembles the page format that was displayed by old wap phones. As a conclusion I would not recommend this product to nobody.
