Within this budget this cell phone provides most of the features which help a lot to teens... But it's unable to open office documents, but within this budget samsung gives us android os and obviously office app which is really helpful to the students...

Pule , 18 Nov 2013Nokia really has to do away with this Asha phones. Even if ... morei don't agree with what you said because lumia is completely different platform and some people relieve on nokia only and don't know how to use WP8 .
for ex take indian farmers and less educated people . will they always connected to use windows phone , so asha is different platform from nokia which feeds people who needs normal icons but not complicated android
for example , my dad uses his asha501with more fluid but he don't even know how to go to dailer , enter a num and call it

Nokia really has to do away with this Asha phones. Even if it means replacing it with a line below the Lumia 525. Resurrect Windows 7.8 perhaps with a smaller screen or something?

Dead right there! But, I doubt it will happen.
The new masters at Nokia are Microsoft and they will only want you to buy Lumia (Windows) phones. Clever Nokia phones that are not Windows will soon find themselves forgotten.

when nokia will realize that QVGA resolution is outdated now.Atleast HVGA was expected in this 503 which is there top end asha device.Why r u running so late nokia?

Dear friends... morefirstly you should post your comment in nokia 501 forum and this is not for 501.
secondly this phone is meant for those who dont demand much but happy with whatever they get.
there are a lot of brands and lot of feature phones available in the market but you still bought this asha means either you are a nokia lover or you just want to speak bad things out loudly.
nokia knows what they do better than all of us.....so be happy with whatever you have.

Dont bush nokia phone. If samsung and nokia drop at same hight? Pretty sure samsung will be scattered! This is a phone not a tablet! You rich! Buy only fabulous phones!!

24 FAULTS IN NOKIA ASHA 501 ARE LISTED BELOW:
Dear friends,
I have purchased this Nokia Asha 501 15 days ago. These are my experienced defects with it!
1. No pdf. reader in it.
2. No copy/cut paste feature in it.
3. No FM recording option.
4. No Call recording option.
5. No multiple files sharing of music.(i.e., u cannot send Audio files more than one song at a time via bluetooth or any medium . even u cannot share any album at once.) One more thing u cannot share any things other than audio and video files through this phone.
6. Coming to alarm. I don't know why they gave this feature. as we dont have any option to change the volume of alarm. By default Alarm sound was fixed and it is very light so that u cannot even know that ur phone is sounding alarm while u are in sleep!
7. No full Java / nokia store apps support!
8. We can't enable Java script in its Browser!
9. More over it don't have good navigation options while capturing video. It means you have to adjust video before starting capturing it. In detail you cannot zoom camera while capturing video!
10. Coming to its proximity sensor. its not so good! while u are attending your call through ear phones. screen will be turned off. so that u cannot even disconnect your call by pressing any key soon.
11. One more Important thing to say that Nokia had not provided this worst ear phones ever in the earlier, as it don't have any call buttons or any thing. By seeing them we can't believe that they are of Nokia Brand!
12. Lacking of apps on Nokia Store :(
13. Nokia said it is dual standby but not Dual active. while u are browsing internet though one sim the other sim automatically gets switched off. so U cannot use Internet for long time so that u cannot receive the calls/sms on other sim while u are browsing on one sim.
14. Cant Customize music, no equalizer :(
15. Mash up gallery, cant co to specific pic, u have 2 rinse though all contents in gallery :(
16. Does not pop up for messengers like We Chan, Line and Facebook in real time :(
17. Where is Home-screen guys........ even cant customize :(
18. Double-tap for screen, sometimes not work properly :(
19. Camera is of 3.2 MP but output is of 2.0 MP :(
20. No sms storage option to sim i.e., u can see sms stored in phone memory only but no in sim and sms cannot be stored in sim.
21. We cannot off camera shutter sound or video recording alert sound it is manufactural fault.
22. No marking and delete option of contacts.
23. No reject list/blocking mode facility of contact numbers.
24. we cannot put same image for multiple contacts. it asks to resize every tune and 1 extra photo will be saved in gallery for each such resize!
The remaining features are awesome than ever.
but what is the use of the phone with missing of these basic features!!!
Hope Nokia will update atleast some of the above features through its Phone update feature..

Dual core, 1gb ram, 16m colors and il buy this baby. My gf got the white 501 and i like the small and responsive feeling of the phone, comfortable to hold. Really long life and durable phone. Im tired of holding big screen phones. Way to go nokia
