So lately my VS7 had been acting very strange. The batteries would only last for 4 hours, and it was always very hot.

I just opened it to check the batteries, and it looks like its gonna burst.

Anyone know where I can buy a replacement battery? It can be used, I just need it to work until I buy a better decent phone.

          Hi People,

          Hope u all r fine.

Mus thank Mark, for clarifying tht Panasonic has stopped maufacturing phones, b'coz I am crazy abt Nokia phones & I dont knw anything abt Panasonic phones & was shocked today when I happend to check the mobile phone list of panasonic, was shocked to c tht Panasonic's last latest mobile phone was released on Jan 2005.

Their landline wireless phones tht I use at home are good, their televisson is also ok(but not too many sales in tht segment as well), But I guess they did the good thing by coming out of business with regards to mobile phones, as itz not good to dump their phones into the market incase they are not confident about the quality.

I jus do not agree with 1 point that mark stated, mark stated tht Panasonic closed their factory because they found tht they cannot make too much profit in the mobile phone industry. I guess Mark is wrong b'coz if Nokia & SE for example can make good profit then why not Panasonic.

Conclusson: itz jus tht Panasonic realised tht they cannot survive in the compitition, so they thought why to play in the game.. They may b no.1 or no. 2 in Japan alone, b'coz Japan's population is vry large & Panasonic is smart enough to tie up with major gsm service providers in Japan & there Panasonic wud b offering each hanset(mobile phone) complementary with every gsm connection inorder for people to make use of 3G facility. So thtz how they r No.2 or so..

          Hav a nice wkend..

          Cheers!!

Panasonic officially terminated all production of celfones since January 2006. Except for Japanese 3G phones (and the manufacturing plant in Japan), all its factory in Taiwan, the Philippines and Hungary were closed. Panasonic heeded that its GSM business is no longer profitable so they pulled-out of business. In Japan, they are still making 3G phones for WCDMA and CDMA2000 technologies and limited units for the 2G technology in Japan known as PDC. Panasonic is ranked#2 in Japan in terms of the numbers of units sold in 2005 and 2006.

Of course, no memory slot, did you notice that this-newest- Panasonic was announced in 2005!! Panasonic , seems to me, isnt making phones anymore.

i used to admire phone from Panasonic. But today i think they are loosing it with the big players in the market like Sony Ericsson and Nokia. But still i find this phone very interesting, although they lack some advance features that other phone manufacturers today are offering.

                  depends on ur provider,
vs7's are gsm phones, which means that they dont have as good reception, so its natural that they dont work very well in basements

Why panasonic isnt remaking this? a VS8 would be cool , slimmer , microsd supported , better camera , keep the screen , keep the push thing , louder speaker (PLEASE?) , more freedom software (Not all pre-programmed, free like SE)

It's a cool phone, works exelently in Russia. And the main thing is that nobody has this kind of phone here. Super, I like it.

does panasonic not know how to install memory card slots into the "VS" series? whats the point of a 2 megapixel camera with only 30MB of memory?

Bought one from Hong kong, and it works excellent in Europe. One of the best phones I ever had. Clear bright screen, fast menues and good batterytime. The buttons may feel a bit flat, but it's just a matter of getting used with it.
