Good guide, some phones are missing but that is inevitable when you think how many are out there. In the end everything boils down to what everyone need small or big multitask or not security crazy or not(althou you should only buy a blackberry if you use BES).I think the best allrounders are androids and as the market look the best price/quality looks like sony xperia sp and if you dont mind wp it is lumia 720 or 625 if you want a bigger screen.Iphones are just way overpriced that is also true for Htc one mini,i would also like to point out that difference between Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 mini is around 50€,Nokia 920 is way too big and heavy to be considered even at a cheaper price, the Oppo brand is not very known in Europe and you wont find too many. You could have also add Galaxy S2 plus ,LG L9II and Note 2 and maybe Huawei g510 each in his category of course.

very good guide gsmarena, pretty spot on with each pros and cons.
this will be the definite smartphone guide for year end 2013.

as for me, only Sony xperia zr and Samsung galaxy note 3 worth of mention.
xperia zr for compact without compromise.
note 3 for complete feature set, a truly complete flagship.

However that is changing now and it is extremely feasible to see things shift from that view...In fact it happened long ago and is increasingly happening.

On the other side of things, look how far we have come since those 3310 days :). I remember it was (probably) year 2009 when I purchased SONY CYBERSHOT camera 12.1 megapixels. Now we have much much better camera in phones like Note 3, S4, HTC One etc.

Shabbir, 06 Nov 2013This is a commendable effort GSM, thumbs up for it. The ... moreYes I agree the Blackberry Z10 is exceptional value, and in many ways better than the HTC One mini (apart from looks, which is stunning) and the S4 mini (which is S4 in name only). The New BB OS 10.2 is a cracker OS and far better to operate than Android.

I love the idea behind the article but some blatantly obvious choices are left out. For example the razr i should definitely be a a contender in the 100-200 euros category

Apple cater for the masses, millions of people don't want over complicated smartphones, they just want something that work & with the iPhone they get just that.

Yeah they are expensive for what they offer compared to an Android smartphone but alot of people don't buy them off contract so the cost is spread out over 2 years.

As a fan or both iOS & Android i actually prefer using my 5s as a my daily as it does everything i need it to do quickly and efficiently, plus the size also makes it more comfortable to use & it's compact size doesn't scream mug me when using it on the street.

Android now is solely used on my Nexus 7 2013 edition these days & will be for the forseeable future.
