non-removable cover means non-removable battery, right?

IMO, the physical keyboard is nice addition in the world of full-touchscreen smartphones.
but the non-user-removable battery is the biggest drawback.

i had three Blackberry devices some years ago, and based on my personal experiences, the batteries were the first to give up (i was a heavy power user back then).
but, it was no problem, since you could always bought a new set of battery and popped it in your Blackberry. and you're good to go.

now, imagine that with non-user-removable battery.
imagine all the fuzz and the waste of time just to replace a battery?.

skromnia, 18 Dec 2014OMG I don't know why BB is trying to bankrupt so desperatel... moreReally, i was surprised how cheap it is, much cheaper than comparable upper midrangers like Z3 Compact and Galaxy Alpha. I feel like they should made it more high spec and rather have a bit higher price, higher resolution display would have done a lot to compensate for the display size when it comes to fitting content, after all we are talking about a phone with 99% full support for desktop version webpages and then a few extra PPI does miracles. They went too high with the Passport at 1440x1440 when 1080x1080 would have been enough for most users but decided to stick with 4 times less resolution on this one, doesnt make much sense. Viewing desktop webpages on this one will be like the Olympics in zooming and scrolling.

And one more thing, its actually a 6mpix camera, only in widescreen 16:9 does one get 8mpix. Im afraid its the same sensor as Z10, very bad at white balance, and BB10 OS is plagued by a terrible camera software, for example sometimes it lags so badly that the LED flash fires 1-2 seconds after the picture was actually captured.

Too expensive - that is obvious and conspicuous.

OMG I don't know why BB is trying to bankrupt so desperately. After the surprising partial success of the Passport I guess BB was thinking "OK, now let's make an old phone, put a crazy price and no one will buy it, so we can finally bankrupt. I'm really confused about their business strategy.

AnonD-246723, 17 Dec 2014high-res touchscreen, snappy hardware....... 3.5 inch 72... moreWell may be you did not even try BlackBerry device. The os is awsome. You buy the cheapest BlackBerry 10 ( Z10) now the price is reasonable about 100to 150 dollars. You will love it. It had their own beauty. I didnot say it is better than android but I m sure you will love it. Better try the BlackBerry 10 and then only you will give a positive feedback.

Far too expensive for what it is. Come on BB. WE want this mobile but why do you price it out of our range. For this price one can easily get a Samsung S4 for example.

3.5" is going to be way more than sufficient.

I was going to rage on this by stating all the obvious points, that there are reasons why people no longer move on horses, why trains no longer move on coal or why people now use electricity instead of burning oil... but then I looked at the price tag and saw they priced it just right at €45.

You just can't complain when a company gets it right, it's a €45 phone -- what would you expect, fangled bigger screens that can act both as a keyboard and as real-estate to show other content?
