Android 8.0 Oreo review: The little things

04 September 2017
Twelve months have passed since the introduction of Android 7.0 Nougat, and you know what that means - a new, even sweeter release of Google’s mobile operating system is out. This year with Oreo we’re treated to the second ever co-branding exercise for an Android version, following in the footsteps of KitKat from a while back...

Any 'always on' features make me feel skeptical, Now automatic WiFi detection service that identifies if you are near saved high quality(i don't know what are parameters to determine this quality) WiFi network and turns WiFi on automatically(I wonder if it even turns off completely when you disable wifi with the toggle button or like iOS 11 only disconnects from the network you are connected at that moment).... WTF why google wants to enable garbage features, People want to switch off any and every connectivity be it Mobile Data, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS etc when they are not using it(like when i am asleep, i don't need my internet to be on), thanks to non removable batteries. Glad at least they provided option to disable that, already android has Stupid Auto network mode feature(preferred only, you can't force to connect to LTE all the time, at least not from stock settings app), in my nexus 4 it would constantly connect using Edge(With WCDMA preferred on) when i had okayish 3G signal, because of some stupid algorithm they decided was right for me, even weaker 3G is faster than strong 2G, and I would get better data speeds on a weaker 3G signal, i had to enable 'WCDMA only' each time phone rebooted from that hidden test menu.... Pathetic choices to invest efforts into... rather than deciding aspects of our mobile usage for us how about making OS more efficient, less resource hungry?? Instead you gift us with even more background services....

Definitely missing the dark or pure black theme for the phones having AMOLED or OLED pannels.

Some use if you have a Moto G4.

Those contemplating buying Motorola phones beware you will only get one Android system Update.
