Many of the new android features like PIP multiple apps in windows were first made available in the Note 4 running KitKat !!! I wonder what took so long for Google to implement these features in stock .. :/

Even though Oreo is such an exciting name, on the surface it seems there aren't many actual exciting changes.

Using the Pixel again today and Google Photos backup sync was definitely the culprit from yesterday. Battery life is still draining a little quicker than I would like but nothing like the twice as fast drainage from yesterday.
I might still keep the Pixel but will cut off Verizon. But having both my LGs with me feels good too. The two best for me to type on, watch videos from, take photos, and future proofed with expandable storage and removable battery.
I have an uncle who uses a Nokia candybar phone for 15 years now. That's my goal with both my LGs. Let it grow old with me thanks to a removable battery and ability to control my Samsung TV's on/off/volume controls for many more years.
There really isn't any phone out there including the Nokia 8, Note8, V30, Pixel 2, and iPhone X that is highly interesting to me. No removable battery and IR blaster, no thanks. I could care less for bezel-less phones.
Oreo update - 7.5/10
You can skip Oreo and not really miss a thing except PiP which still feels like beta.

Oreo ruined my Pixel's battery life especially for tethering. The irony is I'm now craving to snack on Oreos and Kit Kat today. I like Nabisco Oreo but not Android Oreo.
H8 Android 8. Stick to Nougat for now. I personally don't need anymore phones even if I sell off like four of them.

Good enough for me. Removable battery and IR blaster, ftw! Just try to make $900 by selling four phones. Pay off the remaining balance on the S7 edge on T-Mo and Pixel on Verizon. Then cutoff Verizon. About $57 per month on T-Mo thanks to Pixel $325 bill credit promo months back.
In some ways, I'm glad Oreo screwed up my Pixel. I can now have a good reason to leave expensive Verizon and save $140+ per month. Only $57 instead of two lines costing me $200 and no balance on the account. Avoid Oreo or wait for at least a decibel update.
Nokia 8, LG V30, Note8, iPhone X, Pixel 2, just extra baggage right now. I will return to Nokia or Motorola eventually. Toss in trying out a Sony Xperia first time.

I don't like Huawei and Xiaomi's media manager. It isn't compatible to OS X. ASUS is pure garbage and you can cook BBQ using an HTC phone. The best phones in my mind to get is either Nokia 8 or LG V30. But I don't like the glass rear on V30 and don't care for water-resist, so Nokia 8 is my #1 thanks to unlimited cloud storage and stock Android.
The iPhone X will be cool for awhile but eventually I will get sick of it because I usually grow tired of iOS. There is always an finite good feeling with any new iPhone until you realize iOS is garbage. I don't care if it is smoother than Samsung crap or has 5-year updates. Still restrictive. SE looks better to me than the iPhone X and 8 and I already am sick of it.

We turned off cloud sync for no longer than one second and turned it back on.

Battery life really is a joke and this after a few days of a restore to new and letting it settle down. It gets hotter more now simply on idle.
Last night, I believed the constant background battery drain was because Google Photos was backing up my movies. About 9gb was uploaded. So I turned off the backup sync or any background sync. Charged it up to 87%. Before I fell asleep, used it as hotspot and battery went down to 66% with LTE and hotspot left on. About 6 hrs later, the phone is completely dead.
I want to keep the Pixel for unlimited cloud storage. It makes it easy for me to have photos on all my phones without needing transfer just by restoring it. But if it gets worse, I may need to sell it for $300. Luckily, T-Mobile is giving me $325 bill credits so I get a discount of $13 monthly so I don't lose too much ($650 og price).
I am back using my LG V20 and T-Mobile. My bill is now $81 compared to $120+ on Verizon. I prefer Verizon's coverage and faster speeds where I live but T-Mo's savings is so much better. The next solution if Pixel, S7 edge, and SE all get sold off is get Nokia 8 matte blue. Mainly because it is still on Nougat and offers unlimited cloud storage like the Pixels.

For awhile, I questioned LG's quality. Now I am going back to use them thanks to Nougat and their reliability. Both my G5 and V20 have removable battery, IR blaster, and typing via SwiftKey is flawless. My Pixel will glitch when typing on a YouTube comment box after awhile for some reason. I hate HTC. I remember how hot my One M7 got. Deja vu all over again with the Pixel.
No interest in Note8 or iPhone X either. The bezel-less design is awkward to hold since I used Sharp Aquos before. I wanted the iPhone X but realized it really is ugly and paying $1000+ is plain blind and stupid. My SE looks nicer and I'm already thinking of selling it for $200 just because I hate Dasher on iOS. Not an iPhone fan.
Crossing out any Samsung and Apple. I don't care if Samsung offers us potential Note8 buyers so many freebies, I hate their software lag or curved display nonsense. Perhaps no Pixel 2 as well since Oreo are like hot cookies to Android on idle. Eyeing either the Nokia 8 or LG V30 because they both kept the headphone jack and still on Nougat.
Nokia, LG, Motorola, or maybe Sony for me. Nokia 8 does have that cooling pipe.

Amazing to see the V30 have a 6" display and still be same height as the 5.3" Nokia 8. But I need unlimited cloud storage.

It's not a big leap update. Wishing there are more choices for OS not only google & ios that could make competition and innovation more interesting rather than forced people to change their phone every year only to get latest os.

I hope Oreo irons out the issues and add the features & remove the problems that GSMArena noted. If not, I guess I'll be looking forward for Android P next year (Pizza, Panini, Pie, Pancake, Peanut Butter, etc)
