Nokia N82 review: Comes with xenon

10 December 2007
Nokia N82 is considered the next N-series bestseller and, guess what, it has already hit the shelves. Following the sweeping success of Nokia N73, it was a pretty sure bet that a worthy successor wouldn’t take long to appear. As we see it, Nokia N82 fits...

@Harlekkin

Yes but read the comments earlier. It could be ISO level, processing, or just software problem. However, think, what's the most important for casual shots? You wouldn't want to take night party shots and then when people are leaving and asked for your photos then you said wait I go back home to photoshop them first people will be pissed off immediately! Even both are equal at xenon shots, but Nokia has made casual shots more convenient than K850, so until SE came out with a better firmware, Nokia wins at this time. Sorry to disappoint you. :)

    If the design of this phone was abit better, it would of been perfect.. Anyway, I like the phone very much but it doesn't look hi-tech or cute, and the first thing I look at before buying a phone is the design.. but I'm sure there are many other people who likes the design.

      N82 vs K850 XENON flash
      =========================

      Personally I don't even think the XENON flash on the N82 is as strong as they make out to be.
      If you compare the K850 and N82 flash shots you'll notice that the N82 is a LOT noisier. This is due to higher contrast and color levelling.

      If you take the K850 shot and edit it in Photoshop by adjusting the levels, brightness and contrast you can closely recreate the N82 image processing.(notice how the noise becomes stronger too)

      So I think it's a software setting rather than the actual performance of the flash.
      Still not bad though.

        @YY

        sorry dude, but this questions was really silly, don't you think?

        http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N82 (it states 5, not 2)

        And if you had a look at the pictures and their size, you would SEE clearly that it's 5 megapixels.
        Do a bit more research next time before you ask.

                  Simple.

                  1. Choose N82 for xenon flash

                  2. Choose N95 8GB for big screen and slight more battery juice

                  3. W960i if you want touch screen + keypads (but sacrifice quite some in specs)

                  4. Wait for Nokia come out a phone that's N95 with flash

                      its funny that SE fans coming here saying that SE better and wishing Nokia better luck next time, while they all know that any nokia phone sells alot more than SE phones

                        love the Features.
                        hate the colour.

                        can anybody tell me when the black version will be available?

                          never mind SE users . i think GSMArena makes it unfair for Sony Ericsson just to say that Nokia is better . but SE still the best handset ever.and by the way Walkman is unbeaten music series.

                            to dan, walkman isn't better then nokia.
                            Nokia n91 is still the strongest in bass and loudness.

                                As always another great test from GsmArena. The phone is great, exspecially the camera, it has some drawbacks as keyboard, and weak loudness, but i hope i'll be having one :)

                                  I would have bought this phone but it has a MAJOR drawn back which is crappy sound quality. I use my phone as a walkman most of the time so... better luck next time Nokia.

                                    N82 has good specs but why or why did nokia make it look like a gay phone

                                    introduce a better looking colour

                                      well, even GSMARENA need to admit that...all the disadvantage provide by the review seems isnt any problem for me, totally not at all....but something is strange, the battery capacity is consider big?? 2 story, i see most n82 spec written stand by time = 225 hours, not really good. in fact some professional mobile user told me n82 battery life is compatible with n73, which is really make me happy...which is true?

                                        have to say just got one very impressive,you cant even compare k850i to it n82 is simply a much better all round package,the xenon is really very bright and good,n82 is simlpy the best handset on the market at present
