My sisters N82 takes ... moreif you resize the 12mp photos of the pixon12's to 5mp size(2592x1944, that is) in photoshop, and compare them to your sister's n82's 5mp photos (or whatever 5mp phones), you will see the difference in picture quality.

If u think 5mega is gd enough on the screen and to print out 4R sizes (which most ppl do nowadays) , then let me ask u why digi cam try to make higher megapixels ? You go and find out latest portable cameras. Trend is 12 mega pixel. Dont u knoe that? And ppl buy it to snap a shots and keep it in PC or print out 4R size only (which 5mega can do the job in ur view).
SO, the point is IF u think 5mega is gd enough, then we don't need 12mega in todays world. and manufacturers will NEVER make more mega pixels in future, LOL.

the thing is that it's one of the first real good touchscreen handsets with a xenon-flash (12 mpx don't mean that you have to take shots with 12 mpx all the time), that, actually, makes a lot of difference, mostly on party-snapshots and these things. that, in addition to the interface (which's really cool on the ´jet´-video) and the other stuff this phone offers, makes it really attractive - caused by this, i hope, it's sold cheap when making a contract.

I find it so funny that a manufacturer release a phone that doesn't up the ante in the megapixel war, fanboys bag it out until no tomorrow.
Megapixels don't mean crack. In a mobile, it just wastes your storage in having large files. I challenge a manufacturer to create a 5-6MP camera that really works before they venture into 15MP.

Obviously you get more pixel density if you make printsizes. But who in the world actually uses a mobile shooter to print photos to large scales? Mobile cameras are for casual shots or uploading onto community and blogs on the web.If you compare the N82 shots a normal size monitor to the Pixon it's little to know difference, and if you compare the Pixon to a 12mp digital system camera then Pixon 12mp looks like iPhone shots. It's next to ironic when people think there is a proper type 1/2.3? sensors in these mobiles. A lens that size can support 5mp, anything beyond that is some kinda software uppgrade and not true to it's nature. If you gonna take snaps for your PC, online communities and ypyr mobile gallery, then you very well covered with a 5mp mobile phone, but if you fall on your head and upset your barin balance and decide to start printing third class large scale photos from mobile cameras, then you should get a 12mp shooter. How many people actually base theit decisions on phones based on how the photos print in 3x3 feet or something like that.

better luck next time, Samsung. i don't think this time you can get many people to buy this phone. it's really a disappointment for a phone with not much to offer to be priced this much. i think you're just envy Apple's iphones..

the main difference abt mega pixel is when u actually chop to the same window size. Then u see the difference. In the above link, gsmarena compared innov8, omnia and iph.

Seriously, that's what i keep saying. My sisters N82 takes 5mp pictures next to almost no difference to the Pixon12 when i compare them in photoshop, maybe just a extremely tiny difference, nowhere even close to a differnce of 7mp, i looks more like a 1-2 mp difference. This in nonsense, the 12mp shots are almost just as noisy and grainy as the 5mp shots. Look at the size of the lens, good luck getting "12mp" out of that greenpea. This is just a mobileindustry hoax, i would really like to technically know what exactly makes these cameraphones 12mp shooters. How can the difference between a 5mp and a 12mp so little, it's 7mp more for god sake, and nowhere near justifies the 12mp logo.

Hope we get a Review about the Batterylife on the M8910,as thats One thing Samsung have got to start improving on there mobiles,with the price of the phone an the price of running it ,this mobile will turn out to be very expensive indeed,wish Samsung mobiles you could upgrade the firewall like Nokia phones then they would be even better mobiles

I read somewhere on the web that it can store photos in RAW files - can someone see into that? The alleged size of the photos then is up to 18 MB. (source http://www.cellfanatic.com/2009/06/01/samsung-pixon-12-brings-twelve-megapixels-in-june). I wonder if that is correct or just made-up... :D

Samsung are a huge electronics company who have a 100 cameras better than Pixon12, they can bend rules like this
nokia can't simply slap a 12MP cam onto a phone and call it a day

This is just a hardcore camera-phone with pure, brute camera performance. Nothing special, especially in terms of design. Booooooriiiiing!
