Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini review: Shrink to fit

03 June 2010
It took a while before mobile phones became portable not only in name. At one point, small size alone made a phone something special. Calling and texting were all there was and twelve buttons were nonnegotiable...

Bingo, 03 Jun 2010Low volume louspeaker, no file transfert via bluetooth, no ... morefile transfer and qwerty can be fixed via Android Market.
when it comes to the loudspeaker, swedroid found it to be the loudest they've tested... contradicting, you should try it for yourself.
The battery cant be relaced, sure, that is a downside... on the other hand, would you really? I also prefer it if I can, but Im yet to replace the battery in any of the several phones I've owned.

And putting a large screen on there, would be really difficult due to the physical keys.

Lol, 03 Jun 2010I will buy it if it would have 3.2" screen. 2.55"... moreThat would have made the phone much bigger, due to the limitations of physics... you cant put a screen larger than the body on a phone, its impossible.
      Quite a stupid remark.
You're clearly not looking for a very small phone, then go and comment on phones of the size you like instead!

There must be some kind of fault with your unit. The speaker on this phone is the best of ANY android handset. Best phone Ive ever had including the iphone, n1 and hero. This is a winner and will have mainstream appeal. If you are thinking of buying, do it, you will not regret it :-)

                  gsm arena

So I can't edit documents on it?????? I suppose people use phones for that? No divx....

Must be rubbish then..... maybe people are tired of keeping bricks in their pockets and just want a smaller hoof phone....

Ps I have the desire but I'm getting the mini pro when its released.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini has it all, except for a qwerty keyboard. That makes it an obvious no buy.
I could even type on the old "stylus" qwerty keyboards with my thumbs (although with a lot of concentration).
Messaging on a phone is one of the most important functions. The lack of a qwerty keyboard on this phone will put it in the same league as a Samsung Corby.

Are you going to add an update to the review with the Mini Pro's keyboard and slight size difference? Maybe on the blog?

Low volume louspeaker, no file transfert via bluetooth, no qwerty keyboard, no changeable battery. Was intereseted in this cute phone, but now it is a big NO for me.
Will get a Wave instead, even if much bigger

compact qwerty(suretype) would've made perfect sense for this phone, and they also could've fit a 2.8" screen on the same size chassis.

Nice phone, and a quick release for Sony Ericsson terms. The phone is good for people who like it small and don't care about a large toucscreen. The only disadvantage is the battery, if it lacks you need to buy a new phone as been said in the review. The Iphone has the same disadvantage, that is why I would never buy such phones. But if you don't mind that at all, it's not as expansive as an HTC HD mini. Good option for both the HTC HD Mini and the LG GD880 Mini.

Same old gsmarena with their biased attitude towareds SE, why am I even surprised, probably if this was a samsung maybe the disadvantages would shrink to 2 or 3 points :)

Anyway this phone is great! And it has was it takes to satisfy users with a average budget. Very fast, smooth and responsive phone. Very high build quality and the size is very convenient.

I will buy it if it would have 3.2" screen. 2.55" is too much small for a capacitive screen.
