Great article! I enjoyed reading! Mobile phones had evolved indeed, but I am still using my Nokia 6600! The 1st multi-media mobile phone in the world. Now, that's something to behold and treasure forever. :-)

Its really emotional to read. Really I miss very much my old Nokia 3310, 6600, 7650, 6300, E51, 6020, 6010, 6510, N95, 3110, 2650, N70,.... Panasinic mach box, samsung f300 etc...
Now using HTC Hero.

Thank you very much for this kind of review. It was a REAL pleasure to read this article. I am using mobile since 2003 and my first phone was a Motorola CDMA (can't remember the name). Then as the time flowed, I used as many as 55 sets in total. At present I am using Nokia N85, Nokia 1208, Nokia N73 & Nokia N70. But I always love to read specs of other phones.
If you can, please, write an article about the new touch screen and it's features. Because though I personally don't like touch screens (I sms a lot, t.screens don't help me typing), they are the future. I wanted to know the benefits & problems of using a t.screen (so that I could like it).
Once again, thank you for you effort.

Personally, I'm hoping for some sort of hybrid OLED/e-ink display with phones having some sort of rolling-mechanism. Normally you hold your phone like a candybar with a small screen, and for video or browsing you can 'pull out' the screen to expand it into a landscape widescreen.. Would be kinda cool :)

I expect an article like this one 10 years from now. I will stick around to see that evolution.
I will use my imagination to predict the future now (I might be wrong or right, but here it goes...):
cellphones will be smaller and will rely on Internet connection instead of SIM cards to make calls. Screen size will depend on user wish, as it will be virtual (something like a expandable hologram).
Am I wrong or right??? Live to see it... Until 2020 folks

I still miss the Mitsubishi MARS and Sony Ericsson T100. i remember carring Panasonic GD55 the smallest phone in the locality and college as compare to Nokia 3310 which was the style statement

I think that, "Probably", is right.
I can't be 100% Sure of it, but I do recall, that I had a Nokia 9000i, about a Year, before I saw the Motorola V. Box, advertised on the side of a Bus.
Unless You're not classing the Nokia 9000i, as a GSM. Phone...
(Which it is, by definition.).
I believe that You may have made a mistake, there.

I can confirm, that on Your Site, We are informed that the 9000, was announced in 1998, and that the V. Box, was announced in 2000.
(I know that You were only starting at 2000, so I'm going to let You know, in case it's a Semantic Error... You know, because the Year 2000, has become Your Starting Point... Which would make Your V. Box, "The First GSM. Phone, to have a Keyboard", (since the Year 2000).).

I still have my 4 year old SE W810i, working perfectly and great piece of technology! Also have my old SE S700i too, works perfect but a bit scratched by now! They just dont make like they used to these so called manufacturers (ie Apple). Nokia,SE,HTC,Samsung make good robust phones! Thanks for the memories GSM! Til another 10 years!!
