screen size is big but not very low screen resolution. overall galaxy551 useless phone. galaxy 5 is much more better than this one.

Hey Surinder i installed the arcmedia player from android market.
and try to play WMV file on net. but still the WMV videos are not playing or downloading. The message "this content is not not supported on this phone" appared.
Please suggest me...

Hi, thanks for the review. It was good though there are two things that I would like to know about the Galaxy 551.
1>> Battery life. How long its going to last under normal usage on a full charge.
2>> Will I be able to save a text file just as I am able to do on a computer. What I want to do is create a text file, and be able to save and edit it from time to time similar to what I am able to do with MS Word. This is very important for me. Also, if the Samsung Galaxy 551 does not have this feature, plz suggest another pone preferably with a touchscreen where this feature is available. I know Nokia E71 fulfills this but I would prefer a touchscreen phone. Budget is below Rs. 15,000. If any free app from Android Market allow me to do this then also its OK.

Hi, I just found a new problem on my galaxy 551. When I connect my cell to any external speaker, either through Aux cable or directly to a speaker, sound comes only from the right speaker. I tried on various speaker systems and same problem occurred in all of them. But there is no such problem in the earphones, I am getting proper sound in both sides. Also there is no such setting in the cell phone to adjust right/left balance. So please help me with a solution!

i have purchase this phone 3 one weeks ago, but i shocked when i found that the WMV file is not supported on this phone. this feature is very important for me.
any body can let me know how i can play and save WMV file on this phone from WEB without coverting the video.

Just a clarification. The phone comes with a 2 GB memory card. I should know 'cos i've already uploaded 200 songs on the phone! I bought it about 10 days ago for Rs 12,500 (about Euro 200).

I am rather surprised that GSMArena didn't review the battery performance, something that has come in for major criticism from most users. Merely stating specs provided by the manufacturers doesn't really serve any purpose. What I would really like to see is rigorous tests on the battery like the ones GSMArena did with the Nokia E71 and the likes (running the internet, GPS and stuff like that).

guys..! I can just give a hint, before order this phone go to check it in some phone shop!!! I was waiting so much this model because of the nice price with an android keyboard device, but but! when I went to test it in the shop I realize how really crapy is the resolution of the screen almost pathetic, totally not worth the price!!!... and it was just beside a samsung wave :-)---->551 price 319$, wave price 329$!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!! superamoled screen 1ghz versus a supercrapy worst that TFT screen. Really beware because the screen resolution looks like the phone from the '90 on the 551!!!!!!!!!!

why not pit the G551 against LG optimus One & show how these two compete against each other. both have their own shortcomings but who gets the upper hand finally, maybe G551 but only for the H/W keyboard lovers.
