Also I was talking not about better power efficiency, screen thin, viewing angles or equal light distribution! I was talking about Lifespan and Burn-in effect!

You guys do realise that we're so lucky right. From what I read in the article, ALL the screens are good. Yet as usual, here we have people fighting each other like kids. Enjoy the technology people.

I think you are more on your own when doing so.
Lots of times whether you realize it or not or do it or not the vast majority of people have their phones tilted at a variety of angles constantly. Whether you are browsing, texting, watching a video, taking an angled picture(really comes in handy here), showing things to multiple people, playing a a video game, scrolling, and many other ways.
Phones are almost constantly in a tilted angle. And once you've seen the difference in viewing angles while doing so you can appreciate the the wide viewing angles the Amoleds have to offer quit greatly.

What kind of BS LIES are you trying to pull!!!??? Do you even know what you are talking about or are you just wanting to hear yourself talk? LCD can absolutely have a permanent burn in effect. Don not be fooled or lie.
And yes Amoled can degrade over time, but that is not a promise or guarantee that they are going and especially fast. Amoled has a few set backs, but in a whole make for much better screens.
Lcds take up much more space, use more power(except Amoled uses more when displaying lots of bright whites), Lcd can have a permanent burn in, they get dead pixels, they cannot display black, it's sunlight visibility is not as good, viewing angles realy do suck on most, the contrast is not usually as good, they loose backlighting, mostly have less response time, mostly dont have equal light distribution, and so on.
Amoleds can also get burn in, they have worked on how long they last before they put them on the market and have since then worked more.
And yes if you are displaying a vividly colored picture on a screen that has vibrant colors already of course the colors are going to be very saturated. DUH! And yes the white is not perfect, but it is the only technology that can display black. It basically has the best sunlight visibility as well.

What? How do you hold your phone then when it's not to your ear? At a jaunty angle? Mine's always in my hand dead in front of me when surfing, texting or dialing a number, so unless the screen completely disappears from view when the angle is 5-10 degress out Is this really a problem?

LCD-type displays exhibit a similar phenomenon called transient image persistence, which is sometimes confused with screen burn but is NOT PERMANENT!

Degradation of current organic compounds doesn't happen instantly!
The biggest technical problem for OLEDs is the limited lifetime of the organic materials. Organic compounds degradate all the time and it is only question of the time when it will be noticed. Also time of organic compounds degradation depends on some conditions.
And thats mean all AMOLED screens degradate relatively fast! :(

Here are some photos found on the web, for LG Optimus Black screen (compared to SAMSUNG Galaxy S / IPhone 4 also).
Like GSMARENA photos, we can easily notice highest brightness for LG Black.
Photo of girl: Fair colours with LG Black for face and white background, with extended brightness. The less realistic is SAMSUNG Galaxy S.
Photo of web page: Only LG Black display real whites, with good brightness. Galaxy S don't display white, but display a kind of blue/grey colour.

Thanks to remind OLED technology problems.
AMOLED built screens have some problems that are related to OLED technology.
Actually, if you make some google searches, you will find many witnesses about AMOLED screens "burn in" (the burning of the screen make permanent ghost images on the screen), and there are many witnesses saying that AMOLED screens lose brightness quickly (search "lose brightness" on google). Researchers said about OLED screens they tested that they could significantly lose their brightness after just 1,000 hours of use. And this brightness decrease seems to never stop.
There is no communication that says that these problems have been solved for the future, and so it seems to be no reason to think it could be different in products to come in the near future. Any further information about this would be interesting to have.

I have searched some info about a "Super AMOLED" and its "Burn-In" effect and I have found a forum with a vote poll. Voted about a 200 "SAMSUNG Wave" users and about 35% of them was telling that their screens are affected by "Burn-In" effect. And they was claiming that "Burn-In" effect has affected their screens approximately after 3-4 month of usage! Also I have read that "SAMSUNG Galaxy S (I9000)" screens are also affected by "Burn-In" effect. And that is pretty sad!
So, it would be useful to know more official news about "Super AMOLED Plus" lifetime and "Burn-In" effect, I think it may be a big disadvantage!
And if you don't believe me, just Google and you will see that internet is full of people which are complaining about a "AMOLED" and "Super AMOLED" "Burn-In" effect ("Samsung Galaxy S" and "Samsung Wave" both). According to this vote and all these Google results, we can make an conclusion - Yes there is such problem like a "AMOLED screen" "Burn-In" effect and it is not so rare case. Sad! :(

Yes. I agree. People need to get it right.
Retina=resolution, not display type.
Amoled is it's own type of screen technology just as lcd is a type of screen technology. They are not just fancy names for one brighter screen over the other.

The I4 has a higher resolution on a screen that is almost an inch smaller. That is the only reason it has any leverage. Amoled destroys lcd in any state.
