Looks nice, but getting rid of HW buttons is not. Without a two-stage shutter button, the photo capabilities are severely limited, regardless of how "cool" the UI might seem to the typical consumer.

Too bad Nokia chose for Windows. Meego has it all to become OS number 1 with full support from Nokia.

I guess I just don't see what's "Hot" about the N9. It's definitely not the hardware. The N8 has a 12MP camera w/xenon flash, dedicated camera button, SD card slot, FM transmitter, USB OTB, HDMI out, aluminum chassis. The N9 offers what improvements? A curved screen? A lot of areas are downgrades or omissions.

Software-wise, I see some possible improvements with the swiping, but multitasking doesn't look all that different than on the N8 which also gives you a screen preview of each of the backgrounded apps. Homescreen doesn't look that groundbreaking. It's basically the same thing you see on all the major OS platforms. Maybe there is some exciting software innovation in there that I haven't seen yet.

I hope this can make a come back for the company and I wish them well. For myself, I am going to wait and see before getting this phone. Nokia's flagships N97 and N8 were plagued with problems--they looked good on paper and reviews but in daily life, they function less optimally. This included my N97 that couldn't make or receive a call--i.e. the primary function of a phone!! For now I am sticking to Samsung and SonyErricson.

Stop bashing guys. Every phone has its own strength and weaknesses. It only boils down to how you'd use it.

BTW, does anybody know if this phone has HDMI out? I'd buy this if it has.

                                      Cheers!

After the first media-hype I am actually not that impressed anymore, my Galaxy S2 can do more than this N9 and Android is still far better than MeeGo! MeeGo is better than WP7 and Symbian, but MeeGo actually feels like an Android-clone/copy with just a little different look, but that N9/MeeGo user-interface can probably soon be completely copied on Android by installing a new user-interface from the Android Market.
