MWC 2012: HTC overview

26 February 2012
HTC enter the MWC with a brand new lineup: the HTC One series. The most impressive is the oft-leaked One X. A 1.5Ghz quad-core makes it the company's most powerful smartphone to date. The other smartphones in the line, the One XL, V, and S will all feature Beats audio.

"The internal storage for the One V is very limited - all you get is 4GB of non-expandable storage".:: well, dat just sucks.

Wow, they shamelessly copied Nokia in several ways. The car mode, and being able to mirror the phone's screen wirelessly on a DLNA TV ... both of these features are available on a bunch of Nokia Belle phones, and have been available for a while.

Also they definitely imitated Nokia with the One X body made of polycarbonate, except it still looks cheap and they failed to make it look anywhere near as beautiful as the N9/Lumia 800/900 body. Also it's not a "true" single piece of polycarbonate, just look at that ugly circular cutout that surrounds the camera at the back.

Nice to FINALLY see some camera improvements on Android phones, but Nokia is about to blow away the competition once again in the camera department in just a few hours...

HTC website states that One V will use Sense 4.0 interface, but here reports that it will just use the older Sense 3.6.. Which one is true?

kevinaux, 27 Feb 2012Nokia came up with car mode some time back as beta. It has ... moreNokia became irrelavent as soon as Android/iOS were born.

I also haven't forgiven them for the fail that was the N96.

The One X is unibody. Does that mean "non removable battery" ? Thanks for your answers

Nokia came up with car mode some time back as beta. It has since graduated into the store and is among the most popular.

Wow the SLCD2 looks bright, colorful and got pretty nice viewing angle. And more efficient for browsing than S-AMOLED, and more accurate too. Awesome.

Firs of all, I do not care about branding phone, that goes for Iphone and samsung etc. I chose phone which is, as for my humble opinion, is best at the moment. I used to have Samsung, Sony, Nokia and now Htc. This is truth, and nothing else: Samsung is one ugly peace of gadget, cheap plastic, ugly interface etc. Sony is just rude with customer service, softer update and fixes.. Design is the best of the bunch dough. Nokia, is outdated, since n95, there was nothing good to impress me. But it is in my hart, because of ex devices. Htc, on the other hand, is one brand that utilize almost everything good. Design, as someone could say, is boring. Yes, but is sure more beautiful than samsung (which, btw, imitates Iphone shamelessly) and nokia, and Xperia shown today. Arc was more beautiful. Htc has found good formula for looks, and if it works, do not change it. Customer service, update, Sence UI, build quality, strong, not imitating any brand nor producing many ugly devices like samsung. I own DHD, and it served me one whole year, without any problem. Now, it is time to proceed to next level. Only one problem is battery, which is shame not to be stronger. I know that Tegra is battery live saver, but, 4.7 '' screen, woow, I doubt that. No mater, what Samsung or what ever brand put to market, Htc will always be my firs decision. Who is not big-headed, will sure understand.
