Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III hands-on: First look

3 May 2012
Samsung very recently climbed to top as the phone vendor with most units shipped, but more importantly, it also became the maker with most smartphones shipped. The company is a big player in the Android world, so with the announcement of its...

On page 2 is "It uses the latest TouchWiz software with a four column UI (not five)".
Judging by the photos and videos already posted here and in other sites, in this new UI you can have four or five itens in the dock, and the app drawer is a 5X4 (rows x columns)!

Samsung is responsible for the hype around this phone. They created too much suspence. I know companies have their reasons for keeping their devices secret but I wish they would embrace the benefits of predictability. If samsung had announced these specs much earlier and floated a few mock-up designs they would have had valuable feedback to use in developing the device to suit almost all of their target consumers. I wish companies would do this every once in a while

Lots of comments about plastic backing, but maybe that's not a bad thing. Two friends with iphone4s have smashed them, due to a glossy glass slippery finish (looks great but totally impractical). The first thing many iphone buyers do is buy a cover (usually rubber or plastic)...to encase the glass slippery cover to ensure it doesn't slip out of their pocket or off the sofa

The processor is on 32nm and new transistor technology, so doing more for less power.

Why will you want a better piece of technology ...

I don't get why people are saying this is ugly. And as for plastic cheap build quality? We've had that for years. Most of my phones have been made of plastic.

Denzo, 06 May 2012Ok I understand this excites you but your excitement maybe ... moreThe problem white One X(in case you talk about the international version, not the AT&T) is Tegra 3. I have it on my Transformer Prime and I really hate it. That's why I'll rather consider the One S. The Pentile problem is less annoying than a crashing browser, keyboard issues, HDMI out problems. And the the battery life is pretty important too.

Do you mean you saw one single phone with a faulty screen? Or do you mean every HTC ONE X has a faulty screen? because my screen is perfect which sort of makes your comments a little far fetched.

Is the net faster, do games look better? Can you browse the web better? Do phone calls sound better? Are games faster? What is it. Once you get to speed of a powerhouse like the ONE X, (or any phone speed SGS2 and beyond), what real benefits are there to someone wanting an SGS3 over a ONE X.

What are the benefits? Is it a big a disadvantage as the pentile screen tech in the SGS3, which in my opiinion, is the thing you look at all the time - a real advantage to the ONE X. Style wise, build wise etc everyne has a different opinion.

Some people dont like Ferrari cars, too much show off, or not easy to run, prefer Toyota, meaning some stuff is subjective.

I want objective bonus of SGS3 processor on Android platform.

AnonD-31321, 06 May 2012Battery life is horrible What battery life is horrible? I get 4 hours on screen time, with about 18 hours. I have shown in the comments of the battery life article on this website, I got 28hours, with 3H:57M with bluetooth, WiFi and 3S on the whole day and a half.

One X battery is as good as any smart phone. Especially powering a screen as beautiful as that.

Pleaase try the phone for yourself to mkae a valid argument.
