I will not consider this phone as replacement to my Nokia 808 Pureview. I bought an SG Camera recently and Im not totally satisfy. Too strong flash, A little blurry when no flash was used and too delicate body parts.If they will use the same SG camera hardware, i will not definitely buy this. Why Samsung using so much plastic materials nowdays?

Second the Purview is not that old..still newish and not a grandfather
Third yes Nokia deserves mad respect....But guess what.
For many years Samsung has rivaled them in camera tech and beat them numerous times. Nokia was not the best or first to every camera. Take the Pixon12 for instance. Still one of the best around. The N8 didnt come out til almost a year later and was not even truly and fully superior.

only if the lens were better.
but the camera quality is decent even compared to mid size cameras.

Sharp was the first to came up with optical zoom - V602SH
Then Samsung introduce SPH-2300 in 2004 as well. Then introduce SCH-B600 in 2006. =)

Haha what a pathetic thing. A camera with smarthphone ambitions. Crappy screen, dual-core processor with Android with means it will be slow and laggy. Huge optical lens on the back, which makes it very uncomfortable to use. This is a camera, with smarthphone ambitions. Not a smarthphone with a good camera on the back. Face it, it's just the way it is. Sorry for samsung, but another failure trying to compete in the camera phone market.

15 mm thickness? Maybe on 1/3 of the device... Come on GSM Arena,be objective. You had it in your hands, don't tell me you didn't measure real thickness?

Nokia already made a cameraphone with optical zoom (N93 announced in 2006) before Samsung W880 (announced in 2009)
