Why would yo... moreXCover series are not just for industrial/commercial use but for active/outdoor as well... in industrial/commercial settings, they won't even bother to buy extra batteries for their phones that are used to scan inventories in the warehouses or shelves... these phones have pogo pin charging that all they do is put the depleted one on the pogo pin charging docks and get another fully charged one and go on with their jobs...

in the outdoor/active settings like people going remote doing research or outdoor adventure, having a high capacity battery with an extra battery in the pocket would make the adventure or research go along way without worrying for depleted batteries.

LPo, 18 Feb 2024Such thickness and only 4050 mAh? The phone should have at ... moreThickness comes from being ruggedized. Don't need an otterbox for these, though a screen protector is still a good thing to get.

Standard phones with rugged cases end up as thick if not thicker...and do not have the option to swap batteries.

exp1orer, 20 Feb 2024Samsung is standardising battery size for XCover Pro, XCove... moreThe XCover FieldPro had a thicker battery and hence was a thicker phone, though quite alright for the purpose. I wish they had at least gone with that battery instead, they had it in production already after all. While I think the battery life as is is generally sufficient for the more recent phones, it is a bit odd in how their battery was introduced with the original XCover Pro, a relatively small phone. Since then the XCovers have grown, but the battery has not, a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Something I would like to see is a new solid XCover FieldPro successor, built more akin to massive industrial outdoor devices like the old Panasonic FZ-X1. There would be space in there to use TWO of the current batteries, so they could actually keep that standard and remain compatible with external chargers, and we would get 8100mAh. Engineer it right and there could even be hot-swap functionality - if one battery goes low, you can switch it while the phone keeps running off the other battery.

Samsung should really make the battery capacity for the XCover series BIG because it's an outdoor/commercial phone that requires battery endurance whilst a warehouse operator is using it to scan every box coming in and out of the site or checking the warehouse inventory or a train ticket inspector is using it to scan every ticket barcode of very passenger.

Such thickness and only 4050 mAh? The phone should have at least 5000-5500 battery. The price is definitely too steep.

For me it also does not make sense to release phone, which has almost same specs as Xcover Pro from year 2020. I am owner of Xcover Pro. With that bigger screen battery will not last long. Or did they reduce power consuption by some modifications?

TFT LCD on Samsung = regular IPS if someone is wondering.

In Brazil, it looks like it will be launched soon too.
Samsung released the update changelog page ahead of time.

The successor to XCover 6 Pro will be the XCover 8 Pro. Most likely it will have the same CPU as A55 which is not announced yet. XCover 6 Pro CPU is the same as A52s 5G.

As has been pointed out many many times, the Xcover7 is not a "Pro" phone like the Xcover6 Pro. Samsung alternates the Xcover releases - Pro phone, budget phone, Pro phone... So now it is time for the budget Xcover7.
