That is unbelievable that this phone lacks OIS, 8GB Ram and Amoled screen. These are all necessary features to have a better user experience in relatively difficult conditions, which the phone designed for apparently.

This is riddiculous

Samsung UK website confirms the screen is PLS. The biggest issue in my XCover6 Pro is battery getting drained fast even without using the phone. I hope this XCover7 won't have that problem.

Fred23, 21 Jan 2024You wrote interesting things, I don't have the Xcover ... moreThat Youtube-review is a bit dubious. First he shakes the phone underwater vigorously for a long time, something that is not part of the IP testing procedure. Maybe it should be, and I will happily admit that the whole IP-rating situation is a mess, but in all likelihood his testing exceeded the rating specs. He then lets the phone drop onto concrete from considerable height, again exceeding test specs, breaking the display. He then has the display repaired and retests with water, again getting water inside - but by that time his concrete dropping may already have compromised the whole integrity of the phone. He had the screen replaced, did he have the whole casing checked and tested for damage?

You wrote about the bluish display in connection with the Xcover Pro, according to Notebookcheck's test, the Xcover 6 Pro's display is bluer. (Xcover Pro has 8696 CCT, Xcover 6 Pro has 10050 CCT.)
By the way, I also prefer PLS over AMOLED, because the displays of my last two amoled phones burned in.
Search for this on YouTube: Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro "100% Genuine Honest" review. It will be interesting. The Xcover 6 Pro gets wet inside very easily. Based on several videos and tests, from this important aspect, the Xcover 5 took this obstacle better. I couldn't trust its water resistance after watching the aforementioned video.

If there is something I would like Samsung to implement on the successor of XCOver6 Pro it's the underscreen finger print sensor of the S series and midrange A series and the dual speakers (top and bottom) like in Sony XPeria 10 V.

Fred23, 21 Jan 2024"with these prices you better buy the XCover6 Pro"... moredo you own an XCover6 Pro? you are the first person who says its speaker is poor... my XCover6 Pro has the best loud speaker of all the Samsung I've used. I even compared it with S23+ and I could not find any difference in terms of dynamic sound but XCover6 Pro wins hands down in terms of loudness. XCover6 Pro speaker is very loud because it was designed for outdoor and noisy environment. In fact, its speaker loudness is one of the improvements Samsung had implemented from XCover Pro which I also used to own but sold it because of horrible/blueish screen.

Of all the Samsungs I still own and am using this time (XCover6 Pro, XCover 5, Tab3 Active and Tab S6 Lite) XCover6 Pro has the best PLS screen out there, bar none. XCover6 Pro is the very reason why I no longer want to buy a Samsung smartphone if has an AMOLED instead of PLS.

XCover6 Pro has a tri-band WLAN that is only available in S series and it has a DEX functionality which XCover 7 does not have...it has an extra button at the top which you can assign any two functions and has and LED light notifications.

My XCover6 Pro is faster and smoother than the A52s 5G which I also used to own for a very short period despite of the fact that they have the same chipset and GPU.

Difficult question. I think the XCover 6 Pro is just a mediocre device, not highly recommended. Speaker is poor, it has inaccurate color reproduction on the display, no fast charging, gets wet inside despite IP protection, has a bad fingerprint reader, etc.
It looks like the Xcover 7 and 6 Pro will be the same price here in Hungary, but I'm leaning towards the untested Xcover 7, OR to the slightly more expensive Nokia XR21.

two European online stores are listing this phone for pre-order... due to arrive on 31st January... one is selling it for £350 and the other is £371... both are listing it as having PLS LCD display... with these prices you better buy the XCover6 Pro which you can buy in Amazon UK for £380.

S99 ultra level, 13 Jan 2024Unlike Amoled technology, TFT technology does not have PWM.... moreThere's no way you're gonna make the amoled-loving crowds understand that. I was hoping that I can find a decent LCD alternative to my LG but the choices either suck or they are region limited in sales.
It also never fails to make me laugh everytime used amoled phone sellers insist that amoled burn is normal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

According to the Samsung Newsroom Malaysia it has no fingerprint sensor. That is a great disappointment.

This is upgrade over my Samsung Galaxy A23 5G (can't use AMOLED screen phones, due to flickering, sore eyes):

                              - battery can be replaced, this is very good thing, gives phone a little more longer life.

                              - Dimensity 6100+ is better than SD695, atleast in term of improved 5G modem.

                              - 6GB RAM, 4GB RAM on A23 5G is not just enough to run Android 14, very laggy with OneUI.

                              - IP68 and MIL-STD-810H compliant, I have "waterproof" case on my A23 5G but it's not same thing.

                              - eSIM, seriously been waiting for this.

                              - Latest Android (Android 14) out of box

                              - Enterprise Edition

Gah! Still no wireless charging? this XCover series is the last bastion of those superior legacy features that The Man took from us (the jack, sd expandable storage, user replaceable battery mainly, though I consider not having a notch to also be one of the things that makes older phones way better) but the appeal of wireless charging is just too strong for me. its maybe the only real advancement phones have made in the past 10 years that has actually improved the user experience imo (not counting things that iterate like cpu speed or camera pixels or whatever). maybe i will wait another generation and hope we get it next time. the usb c 2.0 is also a bit of a joke but im not so fussed about it. still though im surprised these phones arent more popular, none of the open source privacy respecting custom rom folks seem to support them :(

Although a successor to the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro excites me more (especially if it has a pin hole front camera, stereo sound and at least a 5000 mAh battery), the Galaxy XCover 7 doesn't seem to be terrible (the Galaxy XCover 5, although it had the hardware of the A12, had the look of the A01 Core, which didn't help it).

But Samsung disappointed in not adding an extra camera lens, even if it was 2 MP for macro or depth.
