I had this phone since may 2014 . That's about 2 and half years . Snd guess what it's the best phone ever. It never let me down. Never stopped working. I love this phone and I will never replace it till it die away.

Had this phone since november 2013. I had a two year warranty for this phone and during those two year I had it replaced twice - first time screen just stopped working, phone would start up (I could hear startup tune), but screen would remain black. Second time it was likely my fault, since I dropped it from around waist high on hard ground (floor in a mall) and I could not hear incoming calls, just some static noise. People on the other end could hear me though. Once again it was replaced to a brand new phone. This one I had for about 16 months now and everything would be ok, except battery is no good anymore and 3 months ago screen cracked while phone was in my pocket. Would I recommend this phone? Hell no.

I have been using this for phone for 3 years already, i buy it 1 week after the phone release in the market back in 2013, what i can say is, it is worth of buying with the price that i pay when i purchase this phone. i'm also a very clumsy guy and i carry the phone around for 3 years and i've been accidentally drop the phone over 60 times n it never breaks, up until yesterday the phone touch input hardware seems malfunction when i was typing a msg which is i guess that i have to replace the digitizer touch screen panel n it is kinda costly. The problem with this phone as i read many other user opinion in here are very same as mine, which is the phone battery to fast, it can't even survive for 24 hours even if it is in idle or standby, second is the water resistance, well actually it was my fault to blame also as the phone capable to hold under water just for 1 meter and 30 minutes and it turn out i've been using the phone under water more than 30 minutes which is around 1 hour something and i start to notice some bubble coming out from my home button and the phone start to when crazy for a while and after that it is all back to normal and i can use under water again for least 1 year before my rubber cap that cover the charging port got loose, for 3 years of my usage... what i can say is this phone never let me down and it is worth of buying for me, and a tips for people in here who still use s4 active.. about the battery, to make the phone power last longer... turn off the data whenever you are not using it. for me... i always off data before am going to sleep, i think s4 active able to survive at least a day and a half with data off..

My S4 Active has been broken.
Don't want to repair it what so ever.
Thinking of replacing this 5" phone with ASUS Padfone S Plus, that cost just a mere USD135 in my country, with newer SD801 2.3Ghz processor to start with, then 64GB storage, 3GB RAM, and with Micro SD card slot too if still picky if 64GB is not enough.
Don't get me wrong, I love my S4 Active, just that I want to save the repairing cost to own a new phone with better spec and cheaper in price.
The thing that ASUS Padfone S Plus lacking is the IR remote, and water resistant thing.
Other than that, it has almost everything same as this Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, 1080p screen 441ppi, 2300mah battery.
Consider myself who like to own some rare phone that other people don't familiar with, that ASUS Padfone S Plus (rare phone also) is going to be the replacement for this S4 Active.
For those who still using S4 Active, just keep it nicely and maintain it.
It is one of the most underrated phone out there.

AnonD-495136, 30 Jan 2016I've owned this phone since maybe a week after it came out,... moreYou seem to know ALOT about S4 Active in that you can root it, etc. I am just trying to find out if the microSD card stores contacts and phones. My S4 Active died and I had the A/S ASSY-PBA MAIN part replaced - I'm assuming this is the motherboard. I had tons of pictures and contacts and never saved to cloud or other device. I do not know how to use AT&T Locker - is that a monthly fee to use that? I saw where you can save a contact to either SIM card or Device, but not both? Someone said import/export. I don't know how to do that either. I love this phone because it's big and easy but when it died, oh well. I charged it every night before bed, and am wondering if that's why fried the motherboard if that was what was wrong. I got it back from Samsung repair with no info on what happened, just a list of what was replaced which I mentioned above. any info you can give me is so appreciated. Thank you

I got this phone two and a half years ago and it's still working perfectly. It has fallen into water, been dropped, bumped and knocked many times and still looks good. On hikes, in flight mode, using my 1:50000 maps on Oruxmaps, GPS is accurate and battery life is good as it is not continually seeking a tower. I have multiple batteries and many maps on separate SD cards. Will be rooting it soon to finally get rid of Samsungs bloatware. I really like it's powerful WiFi and I often use it as a WiFi hotspot or improve my notebooks WiFi reception using the USB tethering. I wont upgrade to the newer actives as they now have non removable batteries and no sd card slot. So when this phone eventually goes I have to look for a different brand to take its place. Are Samsung paying attention?
