I personally feel that the S4 is far better than those fashion phones available in it's competition. Plastic reduces weight, gives it a slim waist line, better network etc. Display is far superior. It's really easy to handle and is far more practical and off course those innovative features. Giving a miss to all this seems like a generation gap.

a great phone i must say but it's so hard to invest a quite a lot of money when you're reading those overheating and battery issues..
I want a new phone but i need to make sure that it is a stable phone like the phablet galaxy note 2..
I am a fan of amoled but ips display i think is better, vibrant and not over saturated! I'm torn between this phone and lg optimus g pro.. XD

You are too biased aluminium doesn't allow for nfc. Besides most people use casings for their phones

Phone lacks two things...
first is battery only 2600 mah...why not 3000 ?
second (like most phones) its 16/9 why not putting 16/10 ?
i dare to challenge each and everyone that galaxy note n7000 has the best screen size ratio.... its perfect for wide viewing....just download any pics on a 16/9 screen and see....

Some ppl are bashing this phone like hell while some ppl are praising this phone like God. But in fact, nothing is perfect in this world.
In my opinion, this is a good phone, I tried it personally in a Samsung retail shop. It is very light(weight) and run responsively like lighting (slightly smoother than XZ and HTC one). Having some extra cool features like Air gesture too, but I doubt most ppl will ever use them in real life.
(Personally)I only found 2 dislikes/bad sides for this phone,
1) Design, and this is a big/major dislike for me. Though this should be subjective and depends on personal preferences. But Samsung is keep using the same design over and over again on every high/mid/low end device since last year which makes their flagship like Note II, S3 lack of uniqueness because it looks very similar to other Samsung mid/low end phone and now even similar to the previous flagship (S3 vs S4). I think this is why many ppl (including me) feel/think that the phone looks "cheap/not premium" but not because it is made of polycarbonate or so called plastic.
2) Memory, those extra cool features are come with a price which they eat up quite a portion of memory usage. Together with OS and TouchWiz, it totally consumed roughly 7.xGB memory which is almost half of the phone memory if it is a 16GB S4. Though 8.xGB + SDcard is fairly enough for most ppl. A minor dislike.
Other than above, like screen, camera, call and audio quality and etc are quite subjective for me. Some may like the screen while some may think it is oversaturated. Some may think the camera is good while some may not.
Personally, I think all of them are well performed.
And about some accuses like sudden death, overheating issue, poor battery life and frame drop/lagging issue. All these are either known issue/bug of Android (sudden death n occasional lag issue) or weakness of every smartphone (battery issue n overheat issue). Which means any other Android phone or other smartphone are suffering on the same issues above, though some might be slightly better on some category (like having bigger battery capacity), but generally their difference will not be significant.
Anyway, still recommend any interesting buyer go and try on the phone (display unit) on their retail shop personally before buying it. Because you are the only one who knows which phone suits you best but not others.

S4 is the best phone in the market.It has an octacore chipset,13 MP camera,Jelly Bean OS 4.2.2 and has 2GB RAM.No other phone comes close.
