Well, due to individual differences we have different choices of smartphone. It depends on what you need. For me this is just PERFECT because I'm not much of a heavy user so battery for me is not a problem. I love to capture moments even under the rain so the 13MP camera is all I need and IP 57 certification.. I also use my phone in watching TV series I download from the internet so I'm totally sold with the resolution. So fans of other brands of smartphone out there, if your brand suits you so be it but don't go telling that it's the best of all because it doesn't make sense if it doesn't meet ALL the needs of ALL smartphone users. :-)

Personally, I had the S3 which cracked without dropping it and only after a week. Poor customer support means I will never consider buying one again. I do not think it had a wow factor either and felt like the plastic that it is. I have had them all and currently using the One X+ and the Xperia T and getting this is a no brainer for me, what else is out there? Will be selling the One X+ and Xperia T to get the HTC One. Xperia Z and HTC One are likely to be the best phones released in 2013, especially if you appreciate quality control and excellent build quality. End of...

I hope this device does sell 30 million units in less than a year! And then what? I predict it's going to be 30% less within 6 months as the usual current Sony models.
The design is really to behold, with an exact Juice Defender Ultimate battery management app Sony had to come up to balance the shortcomings of what is now considered as a medium sized battery. That only works when you don't use the device. It'll be like turning it off and of course it will last 4 days if you do want it to.
This will become a common mass device for all. Teenagers in highschool will have this. It will be a common thing that the average Joe will have it. Because it's that an attractive device that it would even sway some die-hard iPhone fans to Android. It's going to be epic and not exclusive for a few lhipsters!

Having tried one of these today I have to say, on first impressions, I'm not impressed.
When I got my S3 I took a gamble because I'd not seen one in person and didn't know what to make of the pictures I had seen. Also I wasn't much of a lover of Samsung phones having had 3 (none smart)Samsung phones in the past and not liked any of them.
But as soon as I took it out of the box it had the "wow factor".
I really liked the look of the Xperia Z and I'm due an upgrade in less than a fortnight with the XZ being a real possibilty.....until now.
In my opinion I think it looks better in pictures than it does in the flesh, feels weird in the hand and the screen was so dull and lifeless it was awful.
I know their is so much more to a phone than the few minutes I spent with this but every smart phone I've owned has always felt like a step up from the last & straight from the box.This did not feel that way at all.

Just to clarify things:
Some early Android phones really had capacitive screen able to be used as multi touch and where limited by the OS. Eventually an update allowed them to be used as such.
The two finger screens allowed a pinch zoom and above that more complex gaming and browsing features.
5 finger screens are more than enough for a mobile, but this new generation of phablets, with 5'' screens and much larger space can allow more fingers to be used and can benefit of the 10 finger simultaneus contact.
Having a 10 finger capacitive screen before just didnt make sense, due to the limitations of the mobile screens, as this was mostly reserved for tablets, Sony now feels the obligation to ention that the Z, being so big, can support that tech as a high end 5incher...

You guys are killing me. U guys really have a lot of spare time in your hands. Disputing over a phone. Lmao! Buy whatever u guys like. Personally, I really like this phone. I have used GSI, GSII, GSIII. SCREEN CRACKED. Sammy phones are poorly built. Time to go back to Sony!!!! Sony is back in the game.

Its written all over the internet if you want to know, but you do really not want to know anything do you?
Stop posting your fake info here, X10 has no "real" multitouch as per def and it never will have, all it has is a limited and buggy DUAL TOUCH, and it had NOTHING to do with the android version. Please get a brain, you are so dense!

With htc and asus using s600 will this be a bad for xperia z for real time usage. Do you think that we can see the difference of performance?
