nothing spectacular about this phone. TFT is the worst LCD technology and the deisgn is very bad. Have you seen all that slimy smudges on the demo phone at CES. Also the on screen keys isn't good.
Wait for MWC in February and this phone will be OLD instantly.

U guys are like comparing.. generic laptop vs ultra tough laptop... yes i understand accident happens but any phone makers can make ip57 certified phone.. but most of them dont except sony..(currently, correct me if im wrong). Its jsut becoming one of the exclusive feature for sony.
If u r have adventurous lifestyle.. go for ip57 ph... but most of the ppl dont..

what I don't like in note 2 is that you have to look for 4G version from store to store and u can't find one very easily. u have to make an extra effort like search online. while xperia z its 4G right from the store. now I'm torn between the two. should i wait for xperia z or not..

this is the most amazing, beautiful design...is just the best phone, and I think this phone would be the best for this year..idk what the people like in the I-phone?!!! can somebody tell me what do u really like on that phone,cause I phone it is good but is really very complicated phone,always have problems in to many things,and everything u do you have to pay,and plus the phone is costing for hell...

I think it is amazing, was always a sony ericsson and SONY fan. glad to see they havefinally caught up and produced a worthy and classy phone, Definitely getting the Xperia Z without a shadow of a doubt.

saw the hadnset at CES; everything about the phone is super! the camera now has a "superior auto" option, so its pretty much a sony digital camera on your phone! first phone with full HDR and full HD at 1080p screen.
the new quad core processor is asynchormoic which means it is battery efficient as it only powers the cores individually and when required. along with the 2GB ram, works smoothly for literally no lag.
the bravia engine 2 really makes a diff to the viewing experience.
the design is beautiful, glass front and back, supposidly stronger than gorilla glass and is shatter proof. the design has truly come from scratch, you do not see any "sony ericsson" on the phone, no logos like the T and S, just shows another big step in the right direction. the phone may be 5" but in my hand it did not feel big at all, and the weight ratio and distribution makes it feel amazing.
the phone is water and dust resistant; how cool is that? with stats showing 1 in 10 phones are dropped in the toilet, this will hopefully save lots of people! not mentioning the functionality would mean you can take underpicture waters while snorkling perhaps? just make sure its in fresh water, not more than 1m deep and no longer than 30 mins; ensure the port covers are closed securely and properly.
sony cameras have always had fast capture with a dedicated key. this is quite a downfall in my opinion as the xperia t and xperia s cud take a pic within 1.5 seconds of holding it down fully. BUT i did test the new way of fast capture and its still pretty quick; and is majorly dependant on how quick you respond; press the power button and on lock screen slide towards the camera icon( direction depends how your holding it ) and it is still very fast. when i used it a few times, i found the concept works, and prob tuk me about 2 seconds or so; still very fast and faster than other models on the market. even though i will miss the dedicated camera button, i think i can live with it as the new way is not bad at all, and il sacrifice it for all the other stuff im gaining!
upgraded exmor rs and HDR means better pics and vids in all light conditions. it would have been nice to get a better aperture, maybe 2.0; still at 2.4 but hey they make great cameras, and with all these extras i have faith the picture capture will definately be better than the last model
the video recording is also excellent for all these reasons.
playstation mobile is looking to be grown this year and what a fantastic option for gamers. new improved screen, bravia engine 2, more ram; my dark knight rises and fifa is just going to give me a superior experience! so it will be nice to see a massive array of games on the psm app; for the S and T it was quite small.
there is a lot to talk about still, but i am going to say, check it out even if your not interested in the product or brand; and ask to see if you can actually put it into a pint of water! what a demonstration that would be! i know o2 let you do that with the xperia go! its a weird feeling!
