Hi, I just got this phone, I need some help transferring my pictures on it to my laptop. Any help will be appreciated.

My Essential Phone randomly got slow yesterday. It was like freezing up and got warmer. First time I've experienced it with this phone. I think the rule of thumb is to turn it off once in awhile. I probably hadn't rebooted it in over a month. Went back to normal ever since.

The one minor complaint is I do the 80/40 battery rule and use the Battery Notifier app. It rarely warns me once it reaches 80%. On my LG G5 on Marshmallow and V20 on Nougat, the app works flawlessly. It rings every time it reaches 40% to charge or 80% to discharge. Could be the app not optimized for Pie or the Essential gets into a deep sleep.

Still my favorite smartphone of all-time. Even got quite a few likes from Andy Rubin and @essential on Twitter. The battery life lasts quite awhile. I rarely use over 40% daily on it and rarely ever get it below 40%. It doesn't drain as fast with GPS on like my other phones do. Even my iPhone SE can drain really fast if tethered or if location is on.

Essential is the only one that can last an entire day without needing another phone for GPS.

I got my last month at 224usd from amazon. not a word of complain, full value for money. good built, specs, clean stock android software. Android 9 runs smoothly, already got one security update for android 9. I like the commitment level of this company when it comes to providing updates.

It's only been 26 days since I've owned it but the Essential Phone is the best smartphone I ever had and easily my favorite. I do notice battery drains a little faster the last few days but nothing as horrendous as my LG G5 that drains 1% every 2 minutes when playing a video.

The Google Pixel camera app also boosts the quality but just a little. Maybe from a 7 to 7.5. Higher during daylight. Very decent speaker and smooth UI experience. Charges very fast. Reception issues comes mostly from my carrier although reception is as good as my previous ones. I absolutely love Pie.

This is the Dreamcast and Shenmue of smartphones. I believe in Essential more than LG. Too bad we will never get a sequel.

Using Essential Phone since April on daily basis, I don't regret purchase it yet. Since I got Android Pie (9) update, it improved the signal strength and camera a lot. Battery can last a day and half, but the fingerprint is not that responsive than my old HTC One A9.

Utricularwolf5, 13 Sep 2018There is an official update to android 9 it came out a few ... moreWell, I'm not talking about A9, I'm talking about the setting to allways use fullscreen, wich worked perfektly in A8.1, but after the upgrade, which I have, it's not there anymore. The Essential team have however mentioned that they are working with a fix.

                  I love my Essential Phone.

If you can't get it then that would just be your carrier that you are on but if you want to bypass that all you have to is factory reset your phone with the sim card out so that it doesn't require the build to come from your carrier

The Phone, yes. But for now it's only available with 8.1, when updating to 9 it disappeared. They say that they are working on an update , but as by now only with Oreo.

Essential Phone is amazing on it. Surpassed my LG G5 as my favorite smartphone of all-time.

Sold my iPhone 7 plus for this and couldn't be happier!! Amazing phone. Too bad there won't be a 2.

Essential's reception issues on T-Mobile (USA) is generally true for my case and I make my living as a delivery driver. I need a phone with great signal as my work involves an app and tethering it for my other phones. Quick solution is to set it on LTE or 3G only.

I was planning to return it if the reception is bad because I drive around spotty coverage. It looks like it's holding true for T-Mobile users but I love Android Pie so much, I likely won't return it. Pie is the most amazing and smoothest Android version ever.

I also love the form factor. Perfect size and even slightly shorter than an iPhone X. Just today, I tweeted that the Essential Phone is the greatest smartphone ever made, how Pie is amazing on it, and thanking Android's founder. Guess who liked it? Andy Rubin.

Think about paying $1000+ for a Note9 still stuck on Oreo. You still need to wait months for Pie. The Essential PH-1 is essentially a keeper. The Dreamcast of smartphones. Thank you again, Andy Rubin. :-)

For anyone waiting for Android Pie, it's worth it. Best Android update ever. I used Oreo on my og Pixel a year ago and was kinda disappointed with it. Felt buggy on 8.0. Killed my battery life. Not so on 9.0. Just make sure you set up your device as NEW.

The gestures are slick. I can't believe iPhone X fans think Google is copying Apple. So it was ok on webOS, QNX, BB10, and Meego but not on Android? Only iPhone users have exclusive rights to swipe gestures? Been using swipe gestures for years on Android using Nova Launcher Prime and All-In-One Gestures. Android being accused of copying gestures is hilarious to me!

The Essential PH-1 hardware is fairly awesome already. Still need to test the reception and camera more. I'm not much of a shutterbug, so most of my needs are signal and battery life. And the latter has been fairly great so far. I will always call this the Andy Rubin Phone. Will gain a cult following like Dreamcast, Shenmue, webOS, Nokia N9, and PS Vita all did.

Gets a 9/10 score from me so far. Think a bigger and badder iPhone 4s for the Android world.

This phone is on an entirely new level for Android devices.
Nothing comes close to the look and feel of this phone in your hands.
It is very fast, very snappy, and the screen is gorgeous to look at.

Battery life is phenomenal. I can get a day and a half of use before the battery starts to die since updating to Android Pie(9).

Hands down the best android phone I have ever owned to date.

Just received mine earlier today and updated it to Android Pie right away. Been fantastic so far. Pie is great. I can now use the YouTube app and experience PiP if I go back to the homescreen. The gestures are slick just like Matias Duarte did for webOS. Only Apple fanboys think Google copied them when it was Apple copying Matias Duarte.
