I bought this tablet a couple of months ago and I already sent it twice to service for the same issues:

          1) Green border all over the screen
          2) Standby blocks. Have to restart every time

Unfortunately they did not repair the tablet in either case. I will have to keep this tablet like this.

          So long ACER

Hello everyone, I'm just wondering in my tab right now and I need some help here. Well I'm from Philippines and I just bought this tab last November. First, the performance of the tab was incredibly smooth. I downloaded some apps to test the capability of this tab and again it was good. After a month while I was playing, the game got stuck (literally stuck and has no function at all) the game cannot be rolled up and down because the screen doesn't function at all. After a few seconds it automatically shuts down. I was so nervous that time what happen to my tab cause it's new. After that, i'll did some updates hoping that it runs again normally but unfortunately it has no use and its gotten worse. After that it keeps on shutting down while I'm playing or even surfing in the net. Touch issue also occured after some updates. I had the latest update but then again nothing happen. Now my tab is in its own control. Please please I need some help here.

As you describe it, with the screen facing you, the hdmi port is on the left. On my unit there is a screw quite visible to the right of this port. The memory card slot is behind this screw, between the screw and the back of the tablet. Easy once you know where it is, a bit of of a ??? moment before you actually spot it.

When I opened the metallic flap at the back I found that there was no slot, just a plastic cover with a slight depression. I took the tablet back to Argos and explained the situation. They were very helpful and arranged for another tablet to be available in store this afternoon. When I collected it I opened the box before leaving the shop. This tablet was the same. The customer services were great and arranged for a replacement tablet to be available at another store. I hurried down there, told my story once again and was handed the new tablet. SAME AGAIN. I had to get a refund.

I have just bought this tablet and found the MicroSD card slot straight away after opening the gold coloured flap above ICONIA on the back.

To locate the MicroSD card slot, with the flap open and with the screen facing you, on the right hand side in between the screw and the other gold coloured part on the back, there is a small gap, this is the MicroSD card slot.

                                    Hope this helps.

AnonD-580237, 03 Sep 2016WARNING: UK 3rd Sep 2016. Just bought one. Micro SD port ap... moreMissing Micro SD port found! I feel foolish but need not have felt so if Acer had included a diagram and/or a few words of explanation in the online manual. The solution requires a leap of faith in Acer fabrication standards. If you don't have perfect vision a strong torch and/or a magnifying glass, and a small, thin bladed screwdriver will help.
Gently detach the top section of brassy metallic cover from the middle top edge of the tablet using the small screwdriver to lever it away. It remains attached to the tablet's body by a strip of black plastic. Manouvere the loosened brassy cover aside. Looking down at the top edge of the tablet with the screen facing away from you, you will see a small screw to the left and to the far right a micro HDMI socket. Don't remove the screw. Level with the screw at the edge of the tablet facing you, is a narrow vertical gap between the black plastic and the inside of the remaining brassy cover (the bit marked Iconia). Examination of the vertical black plastic with the torch and magnifying glass reveals it has a shinier surface vertically in the gap adjacent to the screw head. You might think that poking your micro SD card into this gap is a quick route to losing it forever in the innards of the tablet but it is not a fabrication fault - it is the micro SD socket/slot.
Holding the micro SD card vertically with the contacts to the bottom on the side facing away from you, and the tablet screen facing away from you, push the micro SD card into the vertical space. You will feel a springy resistance when there is a mm or so of the card's top edge still visible. You need to press the top of the card downward with the screwdriver blade until it engages and does not spring back, and is pretty much flush with the top of the gap. The spring is quite strong and if he micro SD card is not latched properly inside the port it may pop out and have you on hands and knees looking for it. Once latched in you can replace the top brassy cover. The cover is not meant to physically hold the micro SD card down against the spring. If this happens the tablet will not recognise the card storage space because the card is not engaged in the slot.
Powering up and initialising/registering the tablet I downloaded an app called A1 SD Bench. On opening this shows RAM 1,491 MB total, Internal Memory 19,633 MB free and my 64GB micro SD card with 59,163 MB free. For some reason it also temporarily shows the internal memory again as an SD card with 19,633 MB free as well. You can check the micro SD card is working with a benchmark test and then delete the free app if no longer required. Alternatively In Android settings look inside "Storage and USB" and you will see sections for internal tablet storage and also your micro SD card as portable storage. You may get a notification asking whether you want newly recognised SD storage to be portable or fixed for use only with the tablet as if it were internal memory. The second requires a slow reformatting of the SD card. I leave you to look up the implications of that. I left mine as portable so I can use the card to transfer files with other devices.
It may also be useful to know that a micro SD card in excess of 32GB needs to be formatted as ExFAT. My card came preformatted as ExFAT but I slow formatted it on a PC as ExFAT again to make sure the full capacity would be recognised when inserted into the Iconia tablet. I had read some web pages concerned with only 32GB being recognised on some devices, usually because they were preformatted as FAT32. NTFS format won't work.
Sorry for the lengthy post but I wanted to help anyone else who couldn't find the micro SD port! Comments about going to Specsavers need not be made!

WARNING: UK 3rd Sep 2016. Just bought one. Micro SD port appears to be missing - just a unmoveable plastic strip between retaining screw and the micro HDMI port. Online manual is useless. Best not to buy one until this problem is resolved. Seriously misleading advertising or else a manufacturing cock-up of large proportion. I hope I am wrong but it looks like the tablet is to be returned for a refund. I look forward to a response from Acer support but I'm not going to hold my breath.
