This is NOT!!! an Android 5.0+ phone. It is just KitKat.
And Acer hasn't released any updates though announced for a year ago. Acer actually hasn't really done any release for the phone in a year. Would you by a phone from a manufacture that doesn't follow up once their product hits the market? I know that this is my first and probably last Acer phone ever.

Acer Liquid Jade Z plus its really good phone with low coast....thanks ACER . I wanna buy it one more but I can not find it any shop...

i never search before i grab jade Z,battery percentage drop so fast,yup this is true comments that you will charge 2 to 3x /day lagging built in game.

the battery heats up quickly and i have to chrage it 2 to 3 times daily.. :(

I don't understand why it says so since acer.com says Android 4.4 KitKat on the Acer Liquid Jade Z (S57).
Though it has been said that an update will come that hasn't happened. I have had mine for 10 months and can conclude that it is not going to happen as promised. My next phone will NOT be an Acer that's for sure.

I experienced the lot of problem about this phone, the more you press buttons it become more heat and the battery become flat, I charge it three times a day

My first few weeks was enjoying the phone but now it freezes a lot,and restarts it's self now and then.just need an advise what to do with a phone cause I had it just for a month now.

Want protective case like available EVERYWHERE for I=Phones. ?????????????????????????????????? Can not find one for my new Acer Liquid Z - otherwise, I like the phone.

As many other brands, Acer is choosing hotspot channel automatically based on surrounding WiFi networks. If you live in a crowded WiFi area, than it is very likely that your Acer phone will sellect Channel 13 for hotspot, considering it is less crowded. There is no manual setting to change this. Workaround is to get your phone close to a device working on Channel 11 and your phone will automatically choose Channel 1 or so, trying to avoid jammed frequency. Works every time.

In North America supported channels are from 1 through 11. If your device can see (support the frequency of) channel 13 than portable hotspot will work great. Right now I'm typing this on my laptop connected to Jade Z portable hotspot. My other laptop doesn't see it. My Samsung Galaxy S3 doesn't see it. Unfortunately there is no settings in the menu to change the channel. Rooting the phone will be an easy solution, but it will void the Acer warranty. Still with Acer tech support, will keep you updated...
