This phone shouldn't even be considered a phone or an electronic at all cause it is the worst phone ever. When I go on the Google play store it tells me that I don't have enough storage to download it. Even though I haven't installed a single app! Not even one app!
I'd give it a minus 5 stars because of how incredibly slow this junk is. The keyboard is the worst because when I tap somewhere I want to type it shows up 15 seconds after. I honestly would never even bother buying from Alcatel ever again because it's just soooo bad. My parents had the same phone but they got upgrades because they have money. I'd get a job but my parents won't let me so I'm stuck with the greatest phone in the world.

Paid $40 in Best Buy, it is quite cheap with that price. One of reason I bought this phone because it comes with FM radio, many new phones don't have it anymore. Used it about a week, it seems OK with that price. Don't expect it's fast. The worst to me is the camera, it has 5mp but the pictures taken are terrible. A lot of noise, and blurry. Not good enough to share on Facebook. Otherwise, it's fine with me at that price for basic usage to check email, look at news ....

As my first phone, this is really good for the price. I got it for $50, but I see some of you got it for less. Still very good for what it is. Here is the cons. It is slow, but it can run most apps. What it can't do is run everything at once. Sure it can multitask, but its better if you do so with about 3-4 or less apps at a time. One thing that improved the Alcatel's performance was disabling all the apps that you don't use. Unless you absolutely MUST geotag every picture you take, or run all the Google Play Store services at the same time, disable them. Overall, excellent phone. Don't be ashamed of this phone; it can do more than you can in a single second. Sure its not the latest and greatest, but don't let society dictate that because its not, it's a piece of crap. Any phone in the right hands is a powerful. The fault lays not in the tool, but in the wielder. That is all.

This is one of the worst phones I have ever owned. It stops working by itself. I will be reading something online and it just backs out of the website or page I'm on. I cant stand having this phone anymore and next payday I'm buying a real phone that actually works.

For the price, this isn't a bad phone. Yes, it does lag and randomly shuts down. Also, there are many apps that it will not run, BUT I paid $20 for the phone, so.......what can I really complain about? It does mostly what I want it to do. If you want a cheap smartphone that you can check email, use internet, and listen to music...as well as use basic apps, then buy this phone.

Sorry to keep defending this phone, but I just don't know where the freezing, re-booting, etc., are coming from -- except from some hyper-active over-grown children who don't really know how to use such a device. It is a bit slow and clunky, and I may keep it out of sight at the next party, to avoid being treated like I have bad breath. But I must ask, again, what part of "a measly 30 bucks at Wal-Mart" don't you understand?

This is the worst phone possibly made. Even when connected to wi-fi it still runs slow, even text messaging. It has destroyed 2 chargers, which I have gotten within 2 weeks of each other. It keeps restarting for no reason. I have never dropped it/water damage/ etc. No reason it shouldn't be working properly. I'd be better off with a regular cell phone that doesn't even have data, at least I can make phone calls and text people without it freezing and re-booting.

This is absolutely the worst phone I've ever come into contact with. DO.NOT.BUY.THIS.PHONE. The grief it will cause you is not worth the small amount of money you will save. I had a super crappy flip phone before I got this phone that had only been 15 bucks -- so i thought anything would be a step up. I was wrong. I miss my old phone; there are so many issues with this phone I don't have the time to list them all but it continually disappoints. It's simply a ridiculously bad phone. It's slow, the MESSAGING app crashes all the time so sending a quick text is impossible, the different sound setting are annoying and have changed ON THEIR OWN before. It randomly turns off and on, trying to get/send pictures on it is horribly difficult, the camera is worse than the one on my crappy tiny flip phone, when i delete and uninstall things in an effort to make my phone faster, they REINSTALL without my doing anything, if I get texts while it's off it won't tell me when the text was actually sent when i turn it on, and there are so many more issues. This phone is an embarrassment to modern technology, a headache to deal with, and is not worth the lawsuit you will get when you finally lose it and throw the phone through a window or at someone else.

You don't! Well unless you want to wait 10-15 business days ("most likely"). And I'm not a reckless person. I'm 48 yrs old and NEVER even dropped it once. I was told that it was not my fault, BUT with the questionable wait and a big move coming up I couldn't wait. Even though my phone was only 3 months old, and the dude at Metro told me "was not responsible". Rather than wait I talked it over w my fiance and just decided to get a new one. Was offered the same phone for 30, which i foolishly took, BCUZ I still pd 30 bux plus 55$ for me to start over the month, and I bought another charger cuz I thought perhaps that was the problem, as I said I am not rough, etc. Well I really F'ed up cuz guys what do y'all think is happening to THIS "NEW"phone. Yup the charger doesn't seem to fit the port, it takes FOREVER to charge, yes even longer! And it's getting worse by the day. I am so F#@$%*¢ DONE with the phone and metro too!

I bought this phone because it was on sale for $50.00. Now the meaning "You get what you pay for" has come to full force.

I decided to switch it out with my Sparq 2, which is basically a flip phone that uses a slide out pad insted of opening. Sadly, this device has worse internet than my Sparq 2.

The call quality is horrible. It has a staticy sound to it, and poor volume. I had trouble hearing when it was on speaker, and held up directly to my ear.

The phone is extremely slow. Have fun using the phone with more than 5 apps added to it. Takes about ten seconds for everything to react.

The screen is horrible. With very high glare, you can't see anything with any light reflecting off it. And you might as well glue a cleaning-cloth to it, because every time you swipe, you're going to need to swipe off the smudge.

Some of the reviews I saw were 3, some even 4 stars, but i'll give this phone a big fat 0. You're better off either buying a flip phone, or an LG phone, since the cheap LG's are worth their money.

I purchased this phone for my son b/c it was advertised as having unlimited text, web and talk. I purchased it through T-Mobile servicing. A few months after I gave it to him, it started showing some type of programing glitch and he was unable to use it for two months. For 45 days service was paid for that could not be accessed and since it was prepaid T-Mobile said there were no refunds. My son dropped the sim-card out of it and another one was purchased through Walmart. This came w/ the Family Mobile Plan provided by T-Mobile and was cheaper than T-Mobile's plan. I took the device to a T-Mobile store and they would not touch it b/c the service was Family Mobile and not T-Mobile and Walmart only sells the service and does not trouble shoot the phones, at least that is what I was told. I called T-Mobile back and b/c I had suspended their services, they at first said they were unable to help me b/c my account was inactive. But upon my insistence, she activated the account and told me to send the phone back to them as it was still under warranty. I was instructed to send it by express mail that cost $30 almost as much as the phone. I sent it by 2-day postal service delivery and received a phone back in 10 days. I purchased another sim-card from Walmart (Family Mobile) and transferred the old number. This replaced phone was in worst shape than the other. Each time you make a phone call and connected with your party, the screen would go black so forget responding to prompts. You could not pull up the screen nor disconnect the call yourself. The ring was not very loud and the phone would freeze for no apparant reason. I was instructed by T-Mobile and Family Mobile to take the device to Walmart. Walmart advised me to contact the manufacturer, Alcatel. After 2 hours of tech support w/Alcatel, I was instructed to send it to them b/c something was wrong w/the phone. I asked would I again be responsible for the shipping to them and they responded "yes." I told them I had already paid once. They told me "Yes but you sent it to T-Mobile, not us." T-Mobile told me that they only receive the phones, but they send it back to the manufacturer for repairs. And even though T-Mobile were the ones that sent me the faulty device, b/c I no longer had an active T_Mobile account, they could not do anything about it. My question is what does a faulty phone have to do with phone service? They are 2 different entities to me but not to them. At some point even though the phone is still under warranty, I will eventually pay for another phone or two in shipping cost. My advice, NEVER BUY A ALCATEL SMART PHONE b/c ITS NOT A SMART IDEA. SMART FOR THE COMPANY THAT KEEPS RAKING IT IN, BUT NOT FOR YOU. Had I read these reviews prior to the original purchase, I probably would not have purchased it in the first place.

I've had the Evolve for six weeks, now, and I haven't had any problems. Either everyone else is doing something wrong or I'm doing something right, because mine has yet to "freeze." Yes, the battery power sinks like a rock, and the response to commands is a bit slow, but this was 30 bucks at Walmart. C'mon, folks, put it in perspective!! If it lasts a year, I'll be pleased. Go pick on a $529.00 device!!

I fully validate prior posts that the One Touch Evolve 5020T is simply awful. I have never used a smartphone that is so terribly slow in all functions. My flip phone on mobile web works faster than this. Even accessing buttons on home screen or phone settings is miserably lagging. Freezes up constantly. Performed all maintenance functions possible but no improvement. Was like this from day one. Phone just died after one month, would not power on. I also have a One Touch Fierce and it works great. Stay far away from the Evolve!!

Terrible phone: it's obnoxiously slow, unreliable, and unresponsive. It would freeze on me, constantly; then it just froze-forever. After only two months, it wouldn't turn back on, completely died on me, of natural causes! Just died in it's sleep. Run away from this phone! Poor product.
