Anonymous, 26 Oct 2015Just got this phone about a month ago..so far so good..but ... moreyah I had encountered that before with LINE app. All the rest were giving notifications except LINE... but after my phone reset to factory settings by itself, i mean like BY ITSELF, everything is good now.

Just got this phone about a month ago..so far so good..but I'm having some problems receiving app notifications..I only receive notifications when the app is open..but when I remove it from from the recent apps list I don't receive any notification from it anymore..has anyone encountered that problem?

I just encountered a problem with my AFP. My son installed this 1 Tap Hibernate App, and after that everything went LAGGY! The battery drains at about 3pm after getting fully charged at 7am wthout playing any games! Now I uninstalled 1 Tap Hibernate, but now I could not access Play Store, even after doing some tricks to access it again. I went through Resetting the phone to factory settings but it would not allow m e. I pressed the erase button but it just blinks and would not proceed to the Resetting to Factory settings! What a big problem!

The Saint, 16 Oct 2015Honestly, must admit that my old 8MP Mi Redmi 1 took better... moreyeah i agree with you. camera is not working well in low light. but i tried another camera app i think its neither open camera or android camera.. used them to capture image and surprised that image size went 4mb. i think afp camera compressed it before saving.

Had it for 3 days. All I can say it is a value for money device. Everything works fine. No lags especially in playing heavy games. Camera is nice although not the best but pictures taken are all in decent quality.

The resulting file size does depend on how much detail is in the pic and the software + compression used.
Take a picture of something or someone in front of a plain white background. Not much other detail there. Same someone or something with a lot of detail in the background. You'd get a different file size.
There are several phone makers that have a lower resolution camera / sensor in the device to cut costs. To get a higher resolution picture (13MP = 4000+ x 3000+ resolution), they'll use software to bump it up. The jpeg compression involved reduces the file size at the same time.
A 13MP image would have a 4MB file size or larger. That file size is typically associated with uncompressed image data.

I found 2 issues with the AFP camera:
1) The file size of photo captured was quite small, around 1 to 2 MB with resolution of rear camera set at 13MP; shouldn't the file size be much bigger @ 13MP?
2) when I open the file with either Gallery or Photos, it looks quite clear & nice but if I open the same file in File Manager, it looks very blur!
I m trying with Google Camera now and hoping to get better quality picture...

Anonymous, 16 Oct 2015I think most of us find that the photo quality taken by bot... moreIt's really weird.... I see the posts about the cameras on this phone but I only ran into one problem.
I tried out the cameras using the stock app. I use the rear camera to take a picture under one of my tables (there's next to no light under that table). But when I check the pic, it's very clear. So much so that I can literally and clearly see a hair on the ground when I'm zoomed in a little on the pic. I can also see very clearly that I need a broom under there.... real soon!! XD But otherwise, I'm not seeing a problem. Thankfully I didn't see something smiling and/or waving at me under there!!
I took a picture (a mother holding her baby... mother's request) with the rear camera while outside in the late afternoon. Not that much light left at the time. Still a very clear pic. Another indoors (well lit area) of my wife fixing a pair of glasses. Also very clear. That pic would have been better IF my hand was a little more steady (I was hungry!!).
But when trying out the front camera for photos, they come out dark and sucky in low light conditions. But completely fine in well lit areas. I don't waste my time with selfies (IMO, selfies are a marathon of useless). But those that like taking selfies would really hate the front cam in low light conditions.
The weird part shows up when I try ANY video use (skype and video recordings) with the front camera. It all comes out clear as could be even in low light conditions.
I'd also like to try out something for a different camera app (for better features mostly) but didn't get around to finding one yet. IF you get one, let us know..... thanks!! Maybe one of the other camera apps would straighten out the front cam.

1) The 6,490 price tag IS a sale price.
2) You bought from a store in a mall. So they're not only trying to pay their rent to stay there, they're also trying to make some money too. Hehehehehehehe.... no one opens a business to lose money!!
So there's the price you saw for the AFP. It's not really a matter of you got "scammed" or " they overpriced" or something like that. Chances are, another store in another mall could have a completely different price (either higher or lower).

lwc, 15 Oct 2015All are fine except the camera is very very bad. I think most of us find that the photo quality taken by both front & rear camera of AFP is quite bad claiming that they are 8MP & 13MP respectively especially when lack of light or in dark environment!
Does anyone knows any APP that could improve the quality of AFP's camera or there are limitation on hardware that could not been compensated by software???
