Anonymous, 13 Oct 2015Well explained "Big Game Addict"! So is it just l... moreI happen to be using XP !! Win 10 is known to cause problems for several of the video games I play. Can't have that !!
But yeah, that's the "short n skinny" of it !! There's always the chance your hardware won't be able to run the OS in question.
The "Insta-Broken XLPOS9000"...... that's a joke name. The only way to check if you caught rotten luck and got that bad version is to keep using your AFP and see if you're also having the same kinda problems like others are posting about here. Things like lag in your games or something went screwy when it should not have and you can't easily fix it. If so, there's a good chance you caught bad luck and got that bad version. It comes out to "Broken from the start..... eXtra Large..... Piece Of..... well, you get the idea!! Once discovered, returning / claiming the warranty for the AFP becomes a priority.
It's like I said before..... it's all one big luck shot. Luck in getting one is needed and luck in getting a good one is also needed.
Look at that.....
How many had to ask where to get one? Even I had to put in the effort just to get one. Went looking all over the place for the AFP and the one place that had it, was also out of stock so I had to wait longer and get them to tell me when it would be there. Even at that, they told me a wrong date and time the first time. How many posted about the problems they had or are having when they got one. But others did not have these problems. Yup.... it's a luck shot with this phone right from the start.
Lots O Luck !!

By the way, how and where to check if my AFP is "Insta-Broken XLPOS9000" version?
Cheers mate!

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2015I think makumakunii was talking about AF2 and not AFP!
Any... moreIn all reality, no, not really!! It mostly depends on the person using the Android device in question. Some want the "latest n greatest" and others don't really care. For the most part, if you're happy enough with the OS you have..... well, if it isn't broken, don't fix it!! That seems to be the part most are overlooking. So don't let the overblown complaints about it get to you!! It upgrades to another version of Android.... ok. It doesn't upgrade.... still ok as long as things are working.
In my case, I have a Galaxy Mini running Android 2.2. I used that thing for 5+ YEARS. It's still working fine too. I didn't care about the OS version. I only bought a new phone because I wanted something with much stronger specs. And YES, I got that when I caught luck and ended up getting the good version of this phone. Not the Insta-Broken XLPOS9000 version of this phone!! It's the Insta-Broken version that people ended up getting instead of the good version (not so lucky for them). So here comes the complaints.
ALL the problems I've had with this phone so far were puny. Nearly pointless to even mention at times. I haven't seen lags like others are describing. The sound and everything else is working fine. I'd LIKE to get a better camera app but even the stock one is working fine. This has been the case for me since August 2015 when I got this phone. Others.... not so lucky.
You're right, the AFP is NOT a Lollipop device. However, I have spotted a custom ROM that would make it a Lollipop device. I have no idea how well it works because I never tried it for myself. Oh well !!
Your apps only depend on the OS MINIMUM version to make them work. The minimum version required is almost always listed in the Play Store app description. Thank the developer as you see fit IF it isn't listed there. Otherwise, they stop working due to a bug or several bugs or some incompatability with a specific device or a clueless user. It's almost never because you didn't or couldn't upgrade your OS. IF an app requires a higher version of Android, you can ALMOST always find a suitable replacement app. Or get another device with the required OS depending on how much you REALLY want that app. Most app updates I've seen still have a minimum OS requirement that was there from the start. If the developer of the app in question had anything resembling intelligence, that detail wouldn't change. If it did, they would cut off a very large number of their own users that are using older OS versions with just a single update. Not terribly bright no matter which way you look at it!!

Anyway, I hv some questions about all these OS stuffs and hope someone could help me to understand more.
Is it really important to upgrade the OS from Kitkat to Lollipop?
What will happen if my phone cannot be upgraded? Will my FB, whatsapp,Gmail etc... stop working and I can't even call out & receive call?
Please advice, cheers!

The Alcatel Flash 2 has been great for its price so far. I have yet to encounter performance issues from my daily usage. One thing that is bothersome though is while everyone is saying bugs about video with alot of noise/grains while in low light they didn't see that the storage selection has its own bug. If you install games that requires additional data like NFS or Asphalt 8 it stores the downloaded data in the sdcard even if you set Internal as default write disk. This is the only Lollipop device with sdcard that I have encountered this so I know it's not a LP thing but definitely an Alcatel ROM bug.

Ive had the phone for 2 weeks now. So far i have no issues regarding the phones performance atleast for its price its better than what i expected it to be. Battery life is not as good as my iphone 6+ and when battery is at 4% it just takes 3 mins to get to 1%. Charging life is abit slow. Camera is not really that good. But with such a cheap price there's really nothing to complain about. I would recomend this phone to anyone looking for a secondary phone or someone who's on a budget

So I think whether or not the battery could be replaced is not really important nowadays!?

i have to agree with the camera...
it could have been better given that it's 13mp Sony sensor.
bad quality when zooming and during low light.
overall, it's a good phone with its price in consideration

Hey guys, we're fooled by the company. I don't believe this phone has the specs as written. Based on my observation, and also experience. First, the touch sucks. Especially when you have sweaty hands. It's malfunctioning even with a small trace of sweat. It will make you throw it away. I seriously prefer cherry omega hd 2.0 that i bought last year compare to this imaginary too good to be true phone. 2 GB RAM and I had more than enough lagg issues. Camera's not what you're supposed to be expecting.
All in all? 1/10. Same as for plus 2. Haven't you noticed? They released alcatel flash plus for "beta" or "user's feedback" only. That's why after months of feedbacks from the users they released flash plus two. It's disappointing. Never try alcatel EVER again.
