As rrj and others were pointing out, you're going to get a variety of experiences with this phone. Some had better luck with it, others.... not so much.

I have not seen lags caused by this phone. Then again, I'm more than likely doing different things in comparisons so I wouldn't see some of those lags.

I had a one time problem with the sound where it went very low. I could barely hear anything at the time. I tried to fix it with the "engineering menu" from a code I found. That didn't work. I decided to try a simple reboot. That worked!! The sound came back loud as could be. No repeat problem as of yet.

I tried to see if I could re-create some of the problems that were mentioned here. One of which was about the music going haywire when using the messaging.... or something like that. That one and others I tried did not show up for me. Come to think of it, differences in any apps used and how things are used could be why.

For a while I thought the AFP was giving me some problem with Magic Rush Heroes. Nope, it was the game update. Apparently the developers of that game are not so great at updates all the time. They do "OK" but not every time. But that particular game update lagged everyone.

The auto correct went screwy on me a couple of times but that was easily fixed as described (re-type it). It's fixed even easier when you get a better messaging app. The stock app, as mentioned before, is only 2 puny lines. NOT COOL for someone with bigger fingers. Basically, anyone over the age of 12!! I gotta take some time to find that auto corrupt and shut that less than worthless piece of space trash off!!

Had a lot of fun with the voice to text. That got to the point where others were asking me "how do you type so fast on the AFP?" !! Truth is, that stuff is already in many mobile devices. But those with an accent are typically going to hate it completely !!

I tried the cameras on skype and taking pictures. Those worked out better than hoped for. Of course, I'd most likely get even better results with a better camera app in comparison to the stock app. I've seen that happen on quite a number of devices.

The AFP does heat up a lot. The main cause being game playing in my case. It's what I do the most on mobile devices (as you may have guessed!!). But if it's in the direct path of a fan, it doesn't heat up so badly. Otherwise, I hold it to my air con for about 15 seconds or less and it's back to cold again. Or just stop playing on it for about 2-3 minutes. Back to normal again.

The battery has been rocking ON!! I do wish it was removable.

The games I play have been flying. Unless of course a game update chokes again!!

The AFP wasn't so easy to get. It's odd considering the specs on it and the price. Anyone would think that Alcatel would make it much more available. Oh well !!

The updates are apparently not so fun. So I didn't try that yet. But I'm guessing the latest update seems to be working.

I was also considering things when it came to that 2GB of RAM. It's pretty good for most things but when you have apps that are constanly running, that 2GB won't last long. So you either have to clear it with the built in RAM cleaner / task killer (press and hold the Home button for a few seconds) or attempt expanding the RAM using the SD card. But lazy me didn't get a SD card for it yet!! As someone else pointed out, don't bother with task killer apps on this phone. My first guess is that idea didn't work so well for the person that mentioned it.... so don't press my luck with that stuff!! I have a lot of things installed but none of them are left constantly running. Either way, I still wanna try that RAM extender when I get a SD card one of these days!!

Rooting it was all too easy. I had to root it so Titanium Backup would work and I could transfer my games (data and all) from other devices to the AFP. If I needed to un-root it, I'm pretty sure that would take the same effort as rooting it. Which wasn't much!!

Some of the games I've been playing on the AFP need some quick fingers and a very responsive screen. No problems there.

The part I didn't like was that it doesn't fit in my pocket like my previous phone. So I nick named this one a "mini tablet"!! All in all, still a pretty cool phone so far.

Cons
-Sometimes there are lags while you are browsing the gallery. There are also times when there are no lags.
-low light prob
-typing online "auto-correct's" in a wrong manner if you erase and rewrite, but the is a temporary solution to this
-2gb ram is not sufficient if you install many apps. I only installed 10 medium-sized apps and my remaining ram is 750+

New kid, 04 Sep 2015Hi dear folks! just asking if this Alcatel Flash Plus is at... moreI haven't used or even seen the Lenovo phone in action. But in using the Compare button, you'd see the differences in both. And then check the posts for the Lenovo phone and see what all else others are running smack into and/or are enjoying.

From what I saw (quickly)....
There're multiple complaints about the cameras on the Lenovo being not so great.

The Lenovo phone has a better battery (better mAh and Li-Po instead of Li-Ion). Both are NON-removable.

You won't really notice a speed difference between the two at only 200MHz difference.

The Levono costs more. Then again, it's availability over the AFP might make someone not care THAT much about the price.

Lenovo seems to be better at Android updates. Possibly at updates in general.

The AFP has better speakers. According to posts, louder too.

The AFP has a half an inch bigger screen size. So those with "bigger" fingers would like that better.

Both have complaints about them heating up a lot. Then again, you're holding an octa core phone in your hand.... go figure!! XD As said so many times....It may be called a "laptop" but don't place it directly on your lap!! Same idea, smaller device.

Some examples would be the Samsung Galaxy Alpha and the Lenovo Vibe Shot. They both have very similar specs but a "lesser" battery. Not sure if a "lesser" battery would bother you. But at least there are others!!

Can someone help me regarding my inbox messaging? Whenever I replied on a recipient contacts with their text messages, the message input field where you can type to reply was disabled and it was labeled not in english language.

But for those who still can't find the MISSING ICONS for the apps what I did was to access the HOME SETTINGS through the menu and RESET LAUNCHER.. It will reset how the screen looks like before.. It did not erase anything at all just reset how the icons were arranged in you screen. I have all the apps available now and just have it rearranged..thanks again though.. A lot helpful tips from you.

Yeah, that's how it's supposed to work IF that option is there. Not every device has it. An "out of the box" AFP didn't. Mine didn't anyway (internal storage only on mine so far). I only have the 1 option and didn't manage to get a SD card for my AFP as of yet (lazy me!!) to try out any other possible option.

With your Summoners War (I gotta try that game when I have time!!) it's that same type of problem as I was saying before where the "mover" apps have a problem trying to use SD cards. So yeah, it would look like a bug but it's really not. The most likely case is that you'll see that problem at random for any given app / game. But for the pic files you either take or download, that should work fine when the SD card is set to the default download / install location.

For pics, there's a bit more to it.....

The stock camera app didn't show me any option to store pics/videos I take on the SD card. Could be just me not having a SD card yet. Then again, I have seen that option not there in other devices WITH a SD card. Also, there are several ways pics can be downloaded. So the controlling app (browser(s), skype, game graphics / ads, camera app(s), etc) would be the setting source for where they go. Your main setting says SD card by default. The controlling app in question says to internal storage.... the controlling app usually wins.

By the sound of it, Summoners War is still saying internal storage for downloading and installing. When it does that and the rest of the game isn't there as expected (it's on the SD card), there's the problem. That additional data would also include the graphics. Unfortunately, you won't have much of anything for real control of the download location for games that are set like that.

Off hand, you only have one way to find out if your other apps/ games are going to work or not when install to the SD card is the default. Good luck!! XD Again, I will mention the problem when a SD card goes "bye bye" for whatever reason. That's very effective at making your apps, pics, and etc go with it. A large majority of my previous phone stops working all together if I take the memory card out of it. That memory card has not come out in 5+ years!! But the phone still works fine!! hahahahaha

4GB left? "Download happy" much?!! hahahahaha Take your pics / videos and dump them to a PC (backups) or something to free up some space. I know that one has a "thanks captain obvious" coming to me but you'd be amazed at how many overlook that one!!

The problem with all smartphones nowadays is the size. I am not a fan of a massive screen smartphones bcos I have small hands & I could easily drop these expensive gadgets in no time! I wish there is a similar version of this Alcatel Flash Plus in a 4.7 inch screen size.

The option on the Storage section where we can use SD card as a default write disk means that if i ticked it the games i download or pictures i take will automatically be send to my SD card? i once tried this but for some reason when i play Summoners War, it needs to re-download all the additional data. i then switch back to internal memory and it works fine, no need to download additional data. i don't know if its just a bug or not cause i didn't try opening other games. since then i haven,t ticked it again. can you help me on this one? i only have 4gb left on my internal memory as of now. Thanks in advance

The Play Store has the chance to make it "quick n painless" IF the games are really still installed. That "should" just put the icons back for you to re-group them and not change much of anything else.

You can try to run them to see if they really are still installed from Settings / Apps.... there's a "Launch App" button in there (or at least there should be one!!).

I bought this unit quite a week or two.
I just getting worried if my unit is damaged or what, Well to tell you guys the truth its sicked charging time ranges from 4-5 hours.
Not to mention it has 3.5k lit batt.
anyone experiencing the same concern?
