Alcatel and TCL's divisions are disjointed. There's basically no customer support for Europe and the UK. The phone never got the Android Nougat update that was promised, so false advertising, along with the crippled 4S version (with no fingerprint scanner) that the non-US markets got (yet for the same price), and lack of support means I'm done buying Alcatel phones and so should you be. They're not a reliable company. They already released an Idol 5S (running Android 7 yet with even worse specs) yet still haven't updated the 4S. For shame.

The first phone I kept for a full year. Was waiting for the s8 but they didnt implement the jbl sound. About the processor, this isnt "much" lower than the sd820. This has the 652 not the 625. With this clean OS its smoother than the S7 with the sd820 . Definitaly the best speakers around and beautiful screen and body. The camera could be better, but the multimedia experience (games,youtube..) makes me want to keep it.

Cristymc, 05 May 2017Mobogenie is just a appstore not a root appSad. I really wanna upgrade my Idol 3 but I cannot becoz the Idol 3 can be rooted and customized in many ways. That 615 chip sucks though but the audio is so great that I cannot give it up.

I am still using idol 3 but the cpu is really slow even I overclocked it already.....:( the sound quality is superb though.

I got the Idol 4S, the android version, through a friend of mine in the US. For how much I paid, it is far much better value than any other phone sold in South Africa. I love it to bits. A proper multimedia phone.
I do not suppose the camera is the greatest but the screen display makes up, especially when watching YouTube videos.
The JBL sound is crisp and delightful, although the earphones are a bit uncomfortable in the ear.
This phone is a winner.
