Which phone is better alcatel o... moreI own Galaxy Note and Idol 6030X (=1GB RAM single-SIM version).
One friend of mine has HTC Desire 500 so I'm familiar with it too.
I can say Idol is great phone for its price, and it has slightly bigger and a better quality display than Desire 500 (IPS vs LCD), with Dragon trail glass which is additional plus.
I already rooted it very easily with one click root, and also put the great Nova launcher (free) which enabled me the 5 columns of icons (like on my Note) instead of only 4, and the resizable widgets.
Another advantage is near-stock Android JB 4.1 (only some icons are skinned and nohing else, so I got rid of it easilly by putting the Nova launcher, without any further need for some custom ROM). Therefore the phone is pretty fast despite of its only 2-core CPU compared to 4-core on HTC Desire 500.
The sound is a high quality on Idol (I can send you instructions to raise-up the stock headphone volume easily if you buy Idol, and it makes the sound even more powerful).
The only small advantages of Desire 500 are 4-core CPU and replacable battery.
But it is slightly more expensive, and you also need to get rid of useless HTC Sense UI.
Both phones accept 64GB microSD (I already have one in my Idol).
If you-re a buying Idol, choose the 6030X model (there are also 6030A with 512MB RAM, and 6030D which is dual-SIM 16GB internal ROM but without the microSD slot).
Only if you really need dual-SIM and microSD expandability both, then you should take the Desire 500.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2014H+means good coverage. Of data connection Which model of 6030 does have the H+ signal? My 6030x dont have an H+ signal..

i just bought this phone a week ago and so far i am impressed.. :) its light,so its easy to carry,battery is fair not bad for an average user and so far im reading good comments about this phone and just bought it at 8,890 philippine money.very comparable to other smartphones that are expensive just because of the brand.
