Hi, AlcatelPCSuite V7.0.10 & One Touch Upgrade 4.5 are now available on the Alcatel website. Has anyone tried OT Upgrade 4.5 yet? If so, is it stable? Had bad experience with OT Upgrade 4.3.1.12 and it killed my phone. Could not turn it back on after upgrade so had to get replacement phone from retailer. Bit nervous to try again! Also does anyone know what this upgrade fixes? Thanks

I think this phone is great for the price. It does everything reasonably well except one thing. It wont play the videos I put on. I've tried 3gp and mp4 at 320x240 resolution. "Failed to open" or "Failed to play" is what I get. Does anyone else have the same problem and does anyone know how to solve this, cheers.

it`s easy to add widgeths but HOW can i remove them ???

When you connect your phone to PC via USB cable you should see three options on the phone screen - Mass Storage, Webcam and COM Port. Select Mass Storage and you should then be able to transfer files from PC to phone. If you want to download your text messages and phonebook onto the PC via the Alcatel PC Suite make sure you select COM Port. Alcatel PC Suite is available for download from the Alcatel site.

The built in dictionary is pretty extensive but it is annoying that you cannot add your own words like on other Alcatel models. The One Touch Upgrade available from the Alcatel site does not seem to address this problem. Also BEWARE, when I first updated the phone's software it killed my phone and was not able to turn power back on again. Had to return phone to retailer. The replacement phone updated fine though. I have seen other people who have had the same experience with the One Touch Upgrade so be prepared if you do try and update it. Good Luck!

I just got this phone today, bought it because they're on sale 50% off! I never thought of how long will it's battery last, but for the whole afternoon, I called and texted all my friends, hehehe till now the battery is full, about the qwerty keypad, it's easy to use. But don't expect to much from this phone's screen responsiveness, I used to have a capacitive phone and this is my first time to try out this kind of touchscreen. You just need to know the phone, on how to use it and you should calibrate it well. I love my phone! I have an android, but this one is smaller so I'm now enjoying my alcatel.

when i try to upgrade the software for my unit, it says long press the download key, or long press the handset's DIAL key, but where is the DIAL key or the DOWNLOAD key? can u please help me??? thanks asap

I haven't checked the T9 feature of this phone because I was so disappointed by the touch response, I was not satisfied either after I successfully upgraded the software. Compared to the sensitivity/typing with my other phone Samsung Champ, it is still tedious to text that's why I sold my unit.

I purchased this phone about a week ago, and considering the very low price, I would say it's a pretty good phone.
I only have two issues that I hope someone may have the answers to, Texting can be very tedious. The response on the screen can be quite slow, but I have heard that there is an update on the website that can improve this so I may give that a go,
The other issue, is that there doesn't seem to be an option to add words to the predictive text (T9) dictionary. It is almost impossible to text without using T9 as the response on the screen is so slow, and I always find it easier to use predictive text. Also on all of my other phones, there has been an option to add certain words to the dictionary if these words are not already optional on the phone.
But with this phone, it will have a certain amount of words on a list to choose from and no way to add more words. This can be extremly annoying and time consuming as I have been switching between T9 and normal text if I want to add a certain word.
Does anyone know if there is an option to add words to the dictionary?
I would really appreciate any ideas.

I have seen battery life as talk time 16 houser and stranded time 831 hours at GSM Arena but i charged more than 03 hours i cant use 24 hours with 01 hour talking time. If you know any solution to increase bater life please let me know about that...
