It is not easy to type your sms compared to other phone because the screen does not respond accurately. If I type number 2, number 8 is being written. If I type letter d, letter g is being written. Pls advise.

still cant connect the unit to a pc, its not working thou im trying to use alcatel pc suite, it really sucks!

grep, 27 Apr 2011thanks for that, but may i know the bugs before upgrading a... moreWell here's what I noticed after I upgraded my phone (I upgraded mine 6 or 7 times now)
- touch response seems to be faster
- slideshow view is added for viewing pictures
- default folders (eBook, music, etc) can't be deleted
- fone ui(user interface) seems to be faster and smoother
- images larger than 320x240 in size can already be used as wallpaper. But too large much images are still not supported to be use as wallpaper.
- lag during video playback is removed. earlier versions of the software has problems with video playback specially it the video is too large.
- voice memo, or voice record playback has better and louder volume.
- bug in screen-lock during call has been fixed. Previous versions have problem locking the screen if your receiving calls, you still need to manually lock the screen but this bug has already been fixed.
- some application such as Facebook, Twitter, etc has been updated.
If your not comfortable with the idea of updating your fone and if your not having issues or problems with the fones software it will be better to just leave your fone as it is right now.
In case that you've got power shortage during the upgrade process, please be advised that it may cause your fone dead and you need to send it to a repair center to be fixed.
Upgrading the fones software does not guarantee to be bug free cause the update may still have bugs on it.

cab, 23 Apr 2011sir nelson, can you give us the steps on how to setup prope... morenetwork during upgrade process could be due to the follwing reasons:
1. Slow internet connection.
2. Firewall. Turn it off during the upgrade process. Or change firewall settings to let One touch upgrade pass thru the firewall.
Tips:
I've been checking for software update for this fone for quiet sometime now. Around 4 times already since I bought it in November.
here the tips that I can share with you guys:
>>> Install the latest One touch Upgrade application on your computer. You can download it at alcatel website.
>>> If you got problems during the upgrade process. try to redo the whole process. Uninstall One touch upgrade from your computer. Clean your registry. then reinstall the application.
>>> Runs the program as Administrator.

Probably the reason for the error is the encoding of the video. Try to reencode the video using total video converter or any video converter softwares. Fr best results try to resize the video to 320x240...

never buy this phone if u like to text a lot.the touch screen not so responsive..has to use finger nail to select anything on screen.mp4 video lagging a lot..every 2 seconds it will stop...not so happy with this phone.. :-(

long tap left or right,just simply tap on the widgets icon beside call dialer,message, you will see it in the the lower part of main screen, then add your desired widget :), see for manual for details

i also having this phone with VIDEO support formats, i tired to see a videos converted from me.. like ".mp4 & .3gp". The User manual said .mp4 format working with OT710D, But it says "failed to open"... any suggestions Please ???
