(where it asks something like "if u don't receive in 60 sec click here" click the link , it will open your browser, select below generate. you will receive a phone call from vibre with a robotic voice which will give you your code..:D

    Just installed vibre on Alcatel OT-918D and it works just fine. first phone is rooted,have link2sd(to increse on memory. i tried to install through market but got an error message to install. so downloaded directly (Version: 2.2.3.109)from (http://www.mobyware.net) search for "viber for android" and installed on phone(make sure you have ticked "Unknown sources" under applications. when installing it will give an error message "not compatible with device" but select "continue anyway".....n there u go. success

      Ludapeps, 05 Dec 2012how can I make it to be 2 gb ramStill looking for how to increase RAM but to increase memory for installing programmes: you need any size memory card (2gb,4gb,8,16...), your phone needs to be rooted, tick "USB debugging" and "Allow mock locations" in the Application settings, Development, Download link2sd from market and install.
      Thats all. It will use your mem card as storage.
      Problem: my mem card is not visible when i connect through usb and mount.

        SO, others are telling that this phone is rubbish? Don't think this is rubbish, well yes, the internal memory, battery are weak, but we can still root and upgrade this phone. Some say they rooted this phone and the rooting is successful. They said the internal memory increased to 150 mb to 2 gb without any problems of some sort,like lagging and etc.well thats a miracle in this type of phone.
        Second is the battery, well we need to install a battery saver for it. But, overall this phone is great, but needs improvement. There are also commented that this phone has fast browser, connection, and etc. Don't regret buying this phone. I KNOW ALCATEL WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE IN THE FUTURE.

          "Can anybody help me? i have rooted my phone successfully twice via bluerai28 tutorials..( http://bluerain28.info/?page_id=297) . thanks to him i rooted my Alcatel OT-918N.. just like that... i was so happy i did it right following his tutorial to the letter... but THEN... after a few hours of usage.. i've notice that Wifi is very Slow and i cant sync to my Gmail, PlayStore, Mail, etc concerning the use of Internet via Wifi... after 1 week.. its still the same... connection is on/off it connect for a while and not for a very long while.. so i decided to "unRooT" it coz i couldnt use the wifi... (not using wifi in a phone is a useless phone) so i did it via OTU (One Touch Upgrade).. it wiped out my data and Completely restored my Alcatel 918N to its brand new state..

          THen after a while again... having a phone that is unrooted makes me feel powerless over my phone i cant tweak it if i want it...So i decided again to root it and carefully followed the tutorial if i miss something that caused the first rooting to be a failure... so i have sucessfully once again perfectly rooted my phone... anyways the main reason i ROOTed My phone is to delete the freakin SHutter sound when snapping a picture... (im not a Pervert by the way, i like to take picture in church and some quite places,and having that freakin shutter sound disturb other people.. so that's my reason why i Root..) enough about that justifying myself... i immediately check my wifi if i can sync and all... sadly i still have the same problem...

                  Got this from some site but cant really remember but all the way thanks soo much to the owner and would like to share.

                  Requirements
                  1. go to alcatelonetouch.com and select your country
                  2. click Support > Download
                  3. select your phone
                  4. click Alcatel_AndroidManager_2.2.1202.1642 unzip and install it(for drives)(i used XP)
                  5. go to filecrop.com and search for "RootAlcatelOT918_final" and download.

                  rooting your Alcatel OT-918/OT-918D/OT-918N
                  _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _

                  01) Copy the file Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip to the root of your SD card.
                  02) Make sure your battery is fully charged and turn off your phone.
                  03) Head to the directory SP_Flash_Tool_v2.1134.00 and start FlashTool.exe.
                  04) Make sure the menu Options->USB Mode is checked.
                  05) Select Scatter-loading and select Android_2.3.6_MT6573_Android_scatter_918.txt.

                  Warnings/Errors like this can be safely ignored:

                  [Warning Hint] Get BMT block count fail, default BMT block count is used!

                  [Hint] Bootloader files are lost when automatically loading by scatter file.

                  Please make sure you want to go through anyway and don't worry about the drivers not recognized when your phone is off.mine did the same but worked anyway.

                  DSP_BL is unchecked, which may result in a boot failure

                  06) Check the entry with name "RECOVERY" and double click it.
                  07) Select the recovery.img file and again make sure ONLY one entry is checked.
                  08) Click the Download button and plugin your phone with the USB cable.

                  * Wait some time (untill the recovery file is loaded to your phone) *

                  09) Unplug your phone and press the volume and power button at once
                  10) Select "Flash Zip from SDCard" and choose the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
                  11) Confirm the update and reboot your phone. Everything should be done.

                          Good phone,but there is better phones,the only bad is that there is
                          no flash player,and can't play minecraft.and low phone memory,but you can root it and overlock to take it 800mhz CPU

                                      i have this phone and i successfully rooted it... and also increasing the internal memory using partition to 2GB. ..and now it works very fine ... more than galaxy ACE ..
