It has never really worked very well from day one, but after about 2 weeks it started freezing.
Shop would not accept it back because it was no DOA.
We decided to put up with it because we needed it and repair would take up to 6 weeks, but the freezing was getting more frequent.
It now freezes twice a day, but you don't always know if it is on the home screen.
We were told to upgrage the firmware so we downloaded the program, but there is no match for this phone in the program and it wont let you go any further.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
What a load of crap.
We have bough Samsung Galaxy Duos and are throwing the Alcatel in the bin after only 6 months.
Don't buy one!!!

I have been looking for a dual SIM business phone for at least 2 years but they all were poor, so I just had to keep using 2 separate phones.
Then a few weeks ago 1 phone broke, so I needed to replace it. I then decided now was the time to definitely get a dual SIM. So I researched again, but they were all craap.
I gave up searching until one day I walked into a FNAC in France, by chance, and then I saw a very rare display of 5 or 6 dual SIM phones!!! They were mostly Samsung, but also there was this one Alcatel. It was on offer SIM-free for a crazy low price of $150 so I just had to buy it and now I am using it for 2 weeks!
It is a very good phone. Not perfect, like all phones, but it is more important to be functional for my business and have 2 SIMS than to worry about one or two small issues.
Well done Alcatel, you are actually better in the growing dual SIM area than the mighty Samsung or Nokia! Perhaps one day the dual SIM Galaxy Note will be great, but it's too big, like a tablet, but I only want a smartphone not tablet, so I will stay with the Alcatel for the next 2 years minimum.

Much as I wanted this phone, am no longer sure now going by commends on speed and camera night mode. Could it be modified?

This phones memory is pathetically low, you cannot install apps as you'd wish. The screen needs calibrating so badly, I had to search Google apps for a keyboard that works with this bad screen. The battery life depends on how you use your phone but otherwise it is ok. The camera is horrible. Overall I regret buying this phone.

in alcatel....the internal memory is very low..becoz of that i cant install the applications more..:(

This phone is quite good but u must root it for it to be much effective , the streaming of videos is quite good, the battery life depends with how many apps u r running wid u phone but its good , i recommend you install ROM andread 2.0m18h3v.4 its rooted and gives much internal memory u can USE WID U Phone

This version needs to be polished the camera has no option for the shutter sound its annoying or did ijust miss it? i cant find it anywhere and the memorycard has no option of selection as well is this 3g capable? it seem like it has a cam on front.. hope there's an update on this

Great phone, rooted and have piled it with apps and is going better then my HTC Desire. Screen is a bit pants. My screen needs calibrating but there are no options to do so. Is very small for typing and with calibration issue... Has stopped me using it. I use it to just house my other sims and turn it on now and again to check for messages. If the screen calibration was ok then this phone would be great

It is Dual Active Sim, not Dual Standby as mentioned above.
Reviews on other pages seem fine
