its a very nice usefull unit for me.having a phone cam videocam and mp3 and others in one thing completes my day.OT-C701 features is exactly same with the new OT-V670 release in 2008.

As a maximum security for the phone, Alcatel declares 1 GB as the maximum capacity but users can confirm that this model can hold up to 2 GB.

Yes it has 3.5 mm adapter and officially only 1GB cards are supported, but as some users here will confirm most 2GB cards work too, but they are not guaranteed.

Hi! In my opinion it's a honest phone... I got it for EUR 1 (one) - it was a special offer- and it's cool. Perfect for teenagers. Unfortunately, the software did not support MAC OS X, but i can live with that.

portia, be reminded that the salesgirls or salesman does not necessarily familiar with all phones they are selling. They may not be familiar with it because they are just selling. The best thing to do to inquire about this phone is read the users comments here. And to make it safe, the alcatel may declare that this model can hold only up to 1 GB but actually this phone can.

I got this GREAT handset in EGYPT in Feb. 2008
I asked about its MicroSD size limit,
EVERY one told me that it's limited to 1GB even the local agent,,
But I found just 2 web sites (All are in UK) says that it can handle upto 2GB!!
I installed a 2GB MicroSD in it and it works vey well, although the agent says that it'll hang!!!, I think they don't no much about what they sell!!
And I think that all of the C707 & C717 are also handle 2GB MicroSD cause the also have the same core design.
I repet again.....
IT WORKS WELL WITH 2GB MicroSD memory card.
In Egypt 1GB MicroSD priced as L.E. 65, while 2GB is priced as L.E. 75 so is there a reason to cut a 1GB for L.E. 10 while the device can handle all of it!!!!!!!!!!!!
And don't forget to get a MicroSD USB reader priced as L.E. 5, the handset is slaw in uploading to MicroSD card, the PC is much faster.
Does any body tried higher capacity with it i.e. 4GB ??

my mom's 701 died, well, it wouldn't get any sounds, volume got shut off, prolly the speaker got damaged or something (she didn't dropped it).
well, sometimes happens, not everything is perfect, but this one is close to it :D

in fact ,all my friend who saw this phone with me ,they were all {surprised) although some of them were having more expensive or more features one,really it has nice design
