I just got this phone..it has some good as well as bad things:
The good thing:
- bluetooth
- internal memory 10mb and external microsd...u can get a 1gb
- good usb connectivity and charging, pc suite, webcam, dial up
- java midp2 applications are suported like mobile maths and quaran and chess AND MORE ....
- mms,sms,t9,big number screen
- easy menu and well organized directory
- 3gp,mp3,aac,m4a,gif,jpg suuport as well as an ex music organized player..artist genre...etc
- comes with headset
- camera options are so good
- small size and weight and soft cover..amazing look
- vibration is ex
- very very good price...579 EGP....and with warranty 1 year...
Bad things:
- it's sound is so low..u can not hear it in the crowd...but vibration solves that to a bit
- it's camera quality is poor..can not scan papers or get high quality images..but for mob images it's ok
- it's not slow at all in operating and music, but some java applications might be slow

this mobile can also be found used with warranty for just 530EGP ...i think that's because of it's voice and camera...

but after all....check out the ot-c 717, it has the same features but it's look is not as good as ot-c701, but it's camera is 1.3 mp

comparing Alcatel's new collection 2008 to sagem's ,, alcatel looks cheap and crap ,, they didn't even produce a single 2mp camera phone ,, i have got ot-c701 and i was looking forward to replace it with one of the new Alcatel products but they seem obsurd

Hi everyone! I might be really stupid, but when i connect my alcatel with the usb to my computer it only charges the battery i cant transfer musics or other things. How can i do it?

hi, I have a question, can this alcatel save video on mp4 from its own camera, because I can save movies on mp4 on the memory and I love the quality, if is there a way how? by the way this is the best phone I have ever had, just love it

Smith, did you buy a simlock free version of the phone or did it come with its own simcard... if it came with its own card then you can use cards only from that provider... and if your card that you wish to use is not from the same provider the phone will not work unless you unlock the simlock. A simlock is normal to be featured on a pre pay phone.
